I completely agree with you point and I've no idea why people are pulling you up on it.

Which ever way you look at it the Mason turned out to be a disastrous (record) transfer.

That implies no blame on the player, the club or anyone also. A freak accident which cost us our most expensive ever player after only 16 games.

To be fair to Selles a lot of people were saying at the time that he supposedly comes good in his second season after shoring up the defence. Biggest problem we had was that we didn't create any real chances in too many back to back games, let alone score many goals. We went too far with it. It did seem an odd decision to sack him after surviving but right now things do seem to be looking up and the new gaffer is off to a good start, albeit in games that don't matter.

i think its fine for fans to 'overreact', the players and coaches can keep grounded after a good result, but surely fans can enjoy it

Hughes was about £3.5m and probably a decent sell on fee. so I don’t think the conversations would start til around £12m is mentioned as a guaranteed fee
