Depends whether you want to ask for a fee but subsidise more of the wages or if you're happy just to recoup as much as possible in wages with no fee. Cos it only makes a difference to a club who can't pay fees.
Crooks 6 ft 4, Ajayi 6 ft 4, McBurnie 6ft 2. A few others over 6ft. Not a team of shortarses anymore!
I completely agree with you point and I've no idea why people are pulling you up on it. Which ever way you look at it the Mason turned out to be a disastrous (record) transfer. That implies no blame on the player, the club or anyone also. A freak accident which cost us our most expensive ever player after only 16 games.
It’d be interesting to know the circumstances of the club wanting rid of McBurnie in the next three years too. Promotion? We’ll have enough money to get someone better. Injury? Possible but would be a bit of bad luck and could happen to any player. Saudi coming in? No wages will be a problem. Age? Maybe, but I suspect his style of play wouldn’t be too affected by it. Can’t afford him any more? Seems the most likely and it should be a concern. However a three year deal finally sorts us out with an effective Championship striker for a few years. It’s been a while since we had that and I suspect even next summer a bad season with us probably wouldn’t put off potential suitors. It’s a risk, but what isn’t. At this stage it feels like the deal for Destan (providing we get Gelhardt) seems the bigger waste of money.
Any signing is a gamble. (Oh and it's not that much of a surprise when you look at who's arguing, now is it? )
Lundstrams like 6ft Kamaras 6ft We used kamara to win the ball with his head quite a few times in pre season
It’s a team of **** houses, height and grit. Gelhardt was a dirty bastard despite his size. Crooks, Lundstram, Hughes, Ajayi, McBurnie, Egan… proper old school 11
If we’d had this transfer window in Acun’s first summer, I dare say we’d be in a much better position right now. Proper championship team we’re putting together here.
Thats right. Gone are the days when we look at the opposition and say how big they all look, other teams will now do that to us. Famewo is another big lad, Hughes too.
They are a rarity in the league these days. Teams will struggle with the physicality, intensity and know how
Hopefully addressing the physical balance will allow our more technical players to influence the game more. It's been an issue throughout the current ownership. Maybe the penny is dropping?

"The Blades are said to have made contact over a potential deal but were dissuaded from taking it any further by Hull’s valuation of the player" Nothing much to make of it IMO
I hope it's not the same place Jimmy Bullard went for his medical. Fulham fans predicted correctly how that was going to pan out.
