I'm still waiting for their King, the anonymous whistle blower, to be revealed and paraded around the stadium as Acun and his band of potless merry men are carted away back to Turkey, driven by Callum Elder wearing a smug grin and a Brewdog t-shirt.

Try all the friends and family of suppliers who hadn't been paid and club employees who were genuinely concerned and the compliance bods at the EFL.

It's just be easier for you to be paraded around with an Acun mask and a kappa top with 'sycophant No 1' on the back.

He's a good player and exactly the sort we need.

It also seems like we've probably committed a lot of money to this player on a long term deal, and our record at getting value out of those is very poor.

These things can both be true. We don't have to pretend to know which way it's going to go and argue about which side of the fence we fall on.

All we know is it's a big gamble. I just hope we stick by him and don't expect 20 goals immediately and then clamour for someone else when it doesn't happen. We can't have him out on loan in a year or two's time because we've got bored of him.

Frigan can cover some of the goals for him :emoticon-0138-think.

Frigan won't be playing a part before January at the earliest, barring a miracle and another player sale or two.

But come Wednesday and if the EFL reduce it to a 1 window ban, could we not get him on loan with an obligation to buy for an agreed fee:emoticon-0112-wonde

Even a 2 window ban would work with this model…if allowed?

I believe if dropped to 1 window we still can’t agree to a fee in Jan, but he could do a deal with westerlo for a no fee loan however he seems to get them done.

I reckon we paid Michael Dawson and others more than Bullard.

McBurnie was always going to on a big wage, he wouldn’t have come otherwise. Of course, the value of that is up for discussion.
Yes. Don't know why everyone seems to think bullard was our most expensive pl player.. Jelavic would have been on more.

We wouldn't be able to agree to any fee, deferred or otherwise.

And we're sailing close to FFP too, regardless of any EFL sanction.

Every signing is a gamble in that you don't know what's going to happen. Look at Millar last season for example. But there has to be some aspiration and statement of intent now and again.

We were criticised last summer for chasing players and not landing them. We've pushed the boat out a little more this time to make sure that doesn't happen. It's seemingly worked.

I think it's more the concern around the huge wages and shifting them if he is a bust. Everyone seems to be equating a 5m fee + 25k a week to 45k a week for a player but it's really not that simple. If he comes in and gets 1-2 goals for the season, are we just going to persist with him next season? If he's on a huge wage, we basically just have to.

Gelhardt on his way back.
Gelhardt will be significant if we get him, he'll be stronger and more effective in a stronger team, has the embargo actually helped us by not blowing the budget on transfer fees but strategically on high calibre free transfers and their wages instead? The desire to come and join our great club is also very encouraging.

I'm shocked Leeds are letting him come here presumably subsidising his wage, in the last year of his deal, with no loan fee. No idea how we've worked that.

This would be a great signing. Cant imagine us signing Frigan as well, which I don't mind due to the commitment to a large signing fee. Gelhardt is a strange one. You would think Leeds would be trying to cash in with only a year left on his contract. Maybe his wages putting teams off. Seems like a win-win for us. Good player, we pay some of his wages and then we get him for nowt.
