When was the last time a Sunderland head coach extended their contract?

 

Only loosely following so I don't know if I'm being honest - there seem to be a lot of people with faith in what he says though.

 

Buzzing about RLB. New contract is deserved, easy to forget that a fair few of our fans weren’t happy with the appointment to begin with and thought we’d be candidates to go down. Getting us promoted is an unbelievable achievement.

I know there’s been some doubts over RLB in the second half of the season (me included) but last season was absolutely incredible and the work he did from where we were when he took over is easily forgotten.

Think he comes across with total class and the players look very happy with him. Showed ruthlessness when he needed to as well.

Big season for him, expectations will be high from KLD imo, but I think we’ve all wanted some continuity for a while with the manager and now we’ve got some. Good luck Regis, keep it up.

He must have some character to be able to attract the likes of Le Fée, Diarra, Xhaka, etc.

It's going to be a fascinating season, needs a better suit if we get to a Cup Final though.

Delighted with the Regis news.

Classy, composed and unyielding: never once dropped his focus during good times or bad.

A record start, a stunning finish; and a plethora of former players hankering to play for him again.

Superb appointment, will learn from the mistakes he made, and correct of the club to reward him, and add further stability.
