Neil could sign a new contract, get his head down and play himself into contention. However, if he's somehow convinced himself a club, any club, will guarantee him playing time I think he's totally miscalculated how good he is. There's only three players, at the club I'd say could guarantee playing more than 25 games this season. That's based on the current squad and no injuries.
There's definitely a world Talbi doesn't start the first game, but I do think he's actually offered a fair but defensively especially in games that are being played at 70% intensity. He definitely looked better with Hume overlapping today though as opposed to inverting into midfield.
I really like him mate. Like you say he tracks back and we gonna need that, he’s lively and he’s forward thinking. I hope he DOES start against West Ham
Yep. So important that he doesn't get a heavy work load. Especially by the way, if he finds himself in the middle of a growth spurt of any kind. These don't always come, and when they do, they don't always come at convenient times for athletes, (Jobe seemed to grow a canny bit in the summer last year), but when they come, they need to be managed correctly. This view by the way from the father of a lad who was an exceptional teenage sprinting talent. There will be one or two on here who know about this stuff.
Of course it's impossible to know which players we'll have and what RLBs thought are ... ... but Hume played very well today and he's played with Roberts, backing him up previously. I think there's a lot more surprises to come, and Roberts may be gone, but at this moment I'm not sure he won't start.
That's for the club and medical staff to monitor imo. If he's in the squad, and needed, they'll play him. He's a young lad but not much younger than others who'll be playing.
I'm not so sure and I don't think any of us know what RLB has in mind. He left Le Fée out today which I assumed was because he doesn't need to know his capabilities. Perhaps he feels the same about Roberts. The next two friendlies should give us more clues but I don't think we should take anything for granted ... ... with the exception of Xhaka
I've been very impressed with Talbi personally. I keep saying it but his defensive work is superb, you don't get that often with young wingers. Needs to trust himself on the outside more as when he does it's created danger every time. I'd like to see him really attack the back post as well, it's how wingers like Salah rack up the goals with easy tap ins. I'd be starting him personally, think he really fits our press and counter attack game.
Le fee just the only one of the midfielders not to be rested, standard procedure I reckon to see how every lot of 3 works together. Don't necessarily think it's knowing his ability just giving him a lesser workload and the others more minutes in the tank.
Wasn't a fan of Adingra since before he signed, but I did think both him and Talbi looked more confident to run at their fullback as the game went on. Talbi is probably more technical with his close control so looked better when he was playing more safe than adingra does, but I think we've got 2 pretty decent wingers on our hands. One more to compliment should be nice.
100% was this. He trusts Enzo. It’s logical to give him a little sit. Sadiki might be a bit of a headache. Clearly you’d think the 3 is Enzo - Xhaka - Diarra, but Sadiki isn’t shirking a thing and he could be scrapping for a short really quickly. I’d never seen anything of him but he’s incredibly impressive.
Yeah I think Adingra is naturally a very frustrating player because he almost never plays it safe. I like it but i'm not sure if i'll be saying that after his 9th incomplete dribble against West Ham but as long as the 10th ends in a goal it doesn't really matter
Yeah that's the thing, no matter how bad a game he has he has the habit of popping up with a goal, those could be crucial.
