I saw some footage of a few trucks that got in yesterday, they got mobbed and all of the aid was looted.

I heard that Palestinian journo who does some stuff for the BBC (I can’t remember his name) saying that around 90% of the aid is being looted by gangs and people are being threatened with knives if they try and get any for themselves.

what is looted is then sold on at markets for vastly inflated prices.

It’s just a free for all at the moment

He's been on the Spurs board for years.

Interesting chap who expresses most of his opinions via stats and equations.

Haven't seen him making any sort of extremist comments on our board, but then again I avoid our Politics Thread like the plague as it is an endless stream of ****e from the same handful of posters.

There is still zero clarity or even a suggestion of clarity as to how a Palestinian State will include both Gaza and the West Bank, without cutting Israel in half or building a tunnel that will cost billions.

And that's before we get started on the even trickier question which is who will govern that state when the current options are a murderous terrorist entity on the one hand, and a corrupt and incompetent political party on the other.

No it’s just being looted by anybody who can get hold of it. It’s a free for all

Have you seen the footage ?

And that’s happening because the UN distribution mechanisms were stymied

We’ve been over this before. But the PA are the organisation to lead Palestine, but that is not Abbas. And it’s probably a PA that is supported by several Arab nations.

As for cutting Israel in half. There’s an argument there about the land that Israel stole in the first place, but we are where we are now. So the pragmatic solution there is that Israel will now have to allow transit between the West Bank and Gaza through Israel, and again it will likely have to be an international agreement between Israel and several Arab nations about a safe route.

I got the impression mate that the UN didn't deliver the aid because of Hamas, but they didn't want to directly say that, because it plays into exactly what Israel have been saying. Thus then the kids get no food, so the UN were sticking to the objectives, rather than the reason why, bit like BWood said, if it was that important why not deliver it anyway? So the UN have constantly been dodging the reason, I could be totally wrong and probably am, but I got a sense of feeling that this was more than just Israel.

He should, but what does Starmer then do if he meets these fairly intangible conditions? His MPs aren’t going to suddenly be under less pressure from the assortment of sectarian Muslims and general freaks obsessed with Palestine in their constituencies.

The UN were delivering aid before though, and it was the criticism that some of it was going to Hamas that promoted Israel to pull the plug on UN deliveries and set up the GHF

Since then, all of the logistical systems that the UN needed to deliver aid were pulled out from under them.

I’ll try and dig out the article from the UN later that showed their attempted deliveries and how they were thwarted by the IDF.

Just listening to the news now and trying to absorb it all.

Okay so 90% of the aid as you stated is being looted by gangs. Pretty much all of it then.

No mate, I’ve not seen any footage. I’ve purposely kept myself away from it because I got sick of seeing all the kids on the news that are ill.

I said a few days ago, probably longer, that this doesn’t seem to be a 100% Israel problem as is mainly being portrayed. It comes across as 50/50. Should Israel be making sure the aid gets through safely and to the kids? Yes, they do have a duty of care.

Can I see why they don’t want to put their soldiers at risk and are pissed off when they are allowing aid through and it’s just being stolen to fund terrorism so people can keep attacking them and drag this out longer? Yes to that also.
