Tbf I think anyone can see with our current defense and goalkeeper situation that’s not going to fend well in the PL
Agree i was just trying to be light hearted as the thread has been fairly depressing over the last day or so Seriously I do think it will be a tough season but you never know with this lot
That's where you're going wrong mate … … as you say there’s a long way to go yet. Perhaps getting some early business done gave us the chance to sit back a bit and bid lower. It’s possible we’d have gone in much stronger, with Xhaka, if he’d been our first signing.
Transfer threads always become weird and people who never post are suddenly on the board winding themselves up … … they always attract ‘new members’ as well for some reason.
I reckon he’ll come back. He’s a canny lad and good poster but says himself he gets anxious overreacts to stuff. Hope I’m right he does come back. I missed some of the action Friday so can’t comment.
Burnley have already signed 10 players. 2x LB/LW/RB/RW. A GK from the German second division and a forward from the Championship. They’ve not replaced Egan or Trafford and their CM’s look incredible weak. You’d feel they still need to bring in at least another 5 or 6. Then they’ve got to try and make them all gel very quickly. I’d rather keep doing what we are doing and targeting quality for each position and not just bringing bodies in for the sake of it.
Whereas so far Leeds have concentrated on their defence with a Goalkeeper, centre backs and centre midfielders. Not a bad policy on the basis that if you don’t concede many you’ve always got a chance of a point or knicking 3 points. They probably feel there in a better position than us as things stand currently. Now that could / will change by the time the window closes
Not really, anyone can read this forum or any other ... ... and, in reality, most of what's on here isn't really news. It would fill in the gaps between transfer rumours ... ... you go first
Absolutely, they were better than us last season too and we’ve lost 2 regulars (Mepham and Jobe) See where we’re at come September though, a lot of work to be done
