There is very little we know as fact regarding the Puerta and Laalaoui situation. From what we do know and can put together, it doesn't make any sense that the club and players would be so pointlessly punished by the EFL, as others have said. That makes me think that there must be more that we don't know which explains their stance.

I think it's a bit wrong that nobody has said anything on it though. The EFL have been totally silent on the matter and so are the club, but clearly the two players aren't allowed to play. It feels as though someone really should be required to explain that.

I agree. Aside from Puerta in one of the games behind closed doors at Cottingham, neither have played in any of the pre-season games either. As far as I know, there’s nothing stopping them from playing friendlies.

Do you really think in the circumstances we could profit on Puerta?

It does feel punitive by the EFL, as they're basically locking us in to taking a loss on a player, negatively affecting the finances even more.
Agree 100% feels very petty and unnecessary that players we have contractual obligations to sign that preceded the transfer ban can't be registered.

I bet this is the first time it’s happened. At the end of the day, rules are rules. They have to enforce their own rules or else imagine we finish 21st using 2 players that should technically not have been allowed to play. The relegated clubs would not be happy.

I cancelled mine. Didn't to get to one game last season. ****ing about with kick off times, personal stuff with my health, family bereavements, M1 50 mph . The days of me rushing out of work and navigating what should be a 2 hour journey are gone. I'm getting tickets for Coventry though as it's just the other end of the M69. And I'll obviously do Leicester away.
Hope you have a better year Ev

happened to Barca, but that was when they were signing players when already under restrictions, no idea if it's happened like in our situation before tho

At this point,no-one knows entirely why we are being treated the way we are,but surely there's a realisation from most of us that the EFL didn't just call a board meeting one day, decide to pull the Hull City ball out of a black velvet bag and punish it for nothing.

This isn't some sort of 'witch-hunt' being played out for the fun of it.

We've done wrong somewhere here and we're being punished, for how long and how severely,we're about to find out!!!

Yeah I get that but what about the 2 players mentioned, they’ve done nothing wrong. IF the efl stick to their initial punishment, they can’t expect the 2 players to sit cooking their heels. Puerta will probably leave anyway but the Moroccan lad unless less we send him out on loan what does he do.
I get the issue is with the club but players in limbo can’t be right

From a players point of view is there some sort of “restriction to trade”. They are contracted to us and are I assume getting paid but the efl (whilst I agree it appears to be the clubs fault) drag their feet, they are stopping these players from working

I'm not legal expert but can't see it as a restriction to trade as the players don't trade they are employed and assume still getting paid (even if not on time)

As ric suggested, the efl didn’t pull hull city out of a velvet hat. So they obviously had concerns, why let us sign the Moroccan and then tell us “he can’t be registered”. Does that not add to our financial problems ?

Yeah I’m not denying that and I’ve said that above. I’m just looking at it from a players view. They’ve missed pre season (so far), the longer it goes on, clubs will think they need a month to get fit which runs into September etc.
I think they can actually play friendlies, I just think it’s harsh not dealing with these players
