I'd like to know what this shambolic summer has cost us in membership cancellations and I thought that was the job of the local journalist? He's have told us in screaming headlines if membership applications had gone through the roof. So does it mean we are only told what the club want us to know and a lot of that appears to be BS?
Obviously but as 'members' I think we have a right to know how serious the situation really is instead of this endless stream of BS and promises of free beer tomorrow.
Any cancellations effective now would have been actioned before the end of the season due to the notice period. Therefore empty seats at the first game are more likely from the poor year last year as opposed to the financial allegations. For what my thoughts are worth i don't think many will have cancelled. Good fans tend not to give up on the club so quickly. By Christmas it may be a different story though if we are rock bottom and in free fall.
I did ask on here a couple of weeks ago if anyone knew how the membership sales were going, unusual and telling that no answer was forthcoming... If you go into memberships and look at the Stadium map, there looks to be plenty of spare seats everywhere. With 2 weeks to go until the season kicks off,I don't see that changing much, unless we sign Lionel Messi... As for the midweeker against Sunderland, sales look to be extremely low....
Sunderland for me, but not Getafe. Things to see, people to do next Saturday. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
A few people seemed to be committing to cancelling around the end of the season. Some due to a really poor season, some for other reasons. This was all before the transfer ban and public financial issues. I was tempted to cancel my pass due to managing to get to only 8 games last season - too many 12.30 kick offs, which I can't get to in time. Saw us win a grand total of 1 point...
I dont have a membership, just attend ad hoc... Loads of my mates are binning it off this season. Not sure what I would do, but its starting to feel like the beginning of an ownership protest.
Am a member and just stopped going towards the end of last season as, quite frankly, it was making me ill. Considered cancelling after the transfer embargo (Acun you are a ****wit) but I like my seat and don't want to lose it. I certainly wont be going to any friendlies as, without new players, I don't see the point. Whether I attend this season will depend upon whether I start enjoying it again. I can get to 12.30 starts, but can I be bothered? I suppose I am slowly falling out of love with it, Acun isn't helping that. I will attend some games and take it from there.
I don't have a membership either, just attend if and when I can afford/build myself up for a long journey. If I lived in Hull I'd buy a membership as I'd attend more but I know one or two who've had enough and have cancelled... In some odd way the 12.30 kick offs suit me slightly better than the 3pm's.I can get a train up here at 6.10 am and I'm in Hull at 10.54,go for a pint with my cousin,go to the football with him, then go for a beer with the ones I know off here and others who don't.Train back from Paragon at 16.50 and I'm home about 22.30(That's faster than Trumpton Tiger FFS) I can cram a lot into a 16 hr day and I'm buzzing by the time I get on the train at York for Hull Owners will come and go,Coaches will come and go,Players will come and go..Until it's physically impossible,I'm buggered if I am.
