As I understand it our debt (technically owed to Acun Medya) was £66 million at the end of the 2024 accounts.

Acun only gets his money/some of it back when he sells us. I don’t think taking the £3million to pay off some of this debt makes any sense. He is struggling with cash flow to keep us afloat, so needs all the cash he can in the clubs coffers.

Not that we got £3million up front anyway - half of this if we are lucky.

Is the money going straight to Acun Medya? I don’t think so.

Have they used the interest in Alfie Jones to go to bank and take out a loan against a future payment? Maybe. It’s what it feels like to me.

For foreigners or older players or player with high wages, very common. Not common for youngsters, especially Turkish ones since they are not considered in limit of foreign players.

Enis probably asked to leave, because Trabzon already signed 2 strikers this summer, and they already had one from Ukraine so Enis became the 4th striker in team. I don't know why they let him go free though, they could have loaned him.

That’s my thinking too. Young, Turkish player contracted until 2028 and they just let him leave for nothing instead of loaning him out?

It would be like us cancelling Burstow’s contract by mutual consent instead of loaning him out or just selling him at a loss but at least getting some money back.

I can only speculate, may be it is because of his wife. Couple of months ago, Enis got married, but his mother posted on Instagram that they don't want bride in family, posted some words hard to swallow. May be Enis really wants to leave country so he asked Trabzon board a favor, similar what Tufan asked from Fener.

@oozkan how common is for Turkish clubs to terminate contracts of sellable assets with several years left on their contracts? Destan signed a contract extension until 2028 in February 2024.

From the outside, these deals for Lundstram and Destan have a whiff of some hefty bank transfers from an account in Puerto Rico going to Trabzonspor’s owners…
So…?

The Destan deal though, they essentially own half of him. As they’ll get 50% of any sale. He’ll play a lot more for us then them too so it’s a very beneficial deal for them in a sense?

Lundstram may forfeit his contract to move home, that’s not unheard of when foreign players move home after a stint abroad.

We did the same deal for Tyler Smith from the Blades

Sounds like he's just what we need, unknown quantity football-wise, with lots of baggage...

Lundstram is an Acun signing and Acun still wants McBurnie. Jakirović clearly wants Frigan. I don’t think we’ll get either. Frigan is desperate to come but McBurnie is playing silly buggers with his salary demands. I know which one I’d prefer.
I don’t know I would say Lundstram is defo Dublin given he signed him for the Blunts too.

There’s not been a great deal of transfer activity throughout the Championship so far. A few teams who have sold big have invested in a couple of new players but it’s been fairly slow, so far.

The speculation about us bringing in this player or that player has resulted to nowt so far (apart from the deals we did early).

Are we going to firm deals up in the next few days? If not we’re starting the season minus all last season’s loans and with a couple of ever present/regulars sold. Oh and at least one fresh injury.

How do we improve on 4th bottom under these circumstances?

With a better manager.

Sporting does that a lot with youngsters they dont think are good enough for the first team. They give 50% to a smaller club where he can play and develop more.

One example of that is Chico Lamba. Sporting sent him to Arouca on a 50/50 for free. he played a season there and now they sold him to St Etienne for 8M . 4M each.

Exactly it’s not dodgy at all it’s just not common and given our owner / situation most would assume that’s what’s going on. It’s mutually beneficial for all 3 parties, Destan plays more for us than he would there so he’s happier, we get a much needed striker, they still own 50% in the case of him becoming a world beater

Anyone on about “cancelling his contract” they wouldn’t be able to put a 50% clause into a cancelled contract!

My worry is how much we are paying for his wages coming from the top turkish league ??
