In the latest HDM article, it says that we have plans in place to strengthen the squad before the transfer window closes on Sept 1st. Are we writing August off again then - like we did last season?

by the 1st august im pretty sure we will have

the new defender, lundstram & shelvey, now im not saying theyre good signings or bad signings
just signings

TWT - but that still leaves us desperately slow in midfield and toothless up front

Can see us missing both of them. We'll then get some donkey from Turkish league 3 who Acun will describe as the next Pele <laugh>

Lundstram is an Acun signing and Acun still wants McBurnie. Jakirović clearly wants Frigan. I don’t think we’ll get either. Frigan is desperate to come but McBurnie is playing silly buggers with his salary demands. I know which one I’d prefer.

Have Dublin and Hodge resigned?

Also, by this I'm judging you'd rather we go Frigan. What's the proposal for how we pay for him? Or will you be happy with a loan and a 'dodgy deal' to get it done after the restriction ends?

Who, genuinely, still does?

I still do in many ways. I think he's a fool and I think the club is probably in trouble under his leadership but it doesn't make me dislike him entirely. The upturn in everything around the club when he took over is still huge to me. I do believe he means well. I know you don't agree with people crediting him for that and I can see your point, but I do still like him for that.

But then I don't hate Duffen either, who is similar in many ways. When I think of him I think of the excitement of 2008 and the belief that period injected into the club and city. He showed us we could dream big. It all goes hand in hand with the spending which as it turned out was crippling us. It's complicated, but to me I don't dislike these types anywhere near as much as people who suck the life out of everything.
