I don't think we'll move for Rongier tbh, I would be ok with it but he doesn't blow me away - not really the profile I think we need.

Although experienced and french is something I'm expecting one of our incomings to be.

 

I don't think we'll sign him either based purely on the fact he's been linked. I think a player being linked to us makes him less likely to join

Also devil's advocate but does Regis Le Bris think Ballard is our best centre back? O'Nien started every game when fit and Ballard didn't. Ballard wasn't a cert to start when fit in the championship so I don't think we can say he's a "cert to start when fit" in the premier

 

He certainly rates him highly from a defensive aspect, once we weren't trying to control game Mepham got binned off.

I'm not sure if I'd be more surprised to see Luke or Dan starting the first game.

 

As harsh as it is I think we might see neither start.

I'm always sceptical about the "beat competition from" that journalists say. It's likely we were the only club to agree a fee with Brighton and agree wages with Adingra.
