Talbi is not a starter like mate. The way he’s been spoke about in the media he knows it’s going to be competitive he’s also not ready yet to come in and just start every week our ‘10’ is the right sided 8 always more advanced defend as the second striker. Like where Rigg played
I think Talbi is probably a starter. Our '10' in the way you're describing them is Diarra and Rigg for me.
I think the idea is that he has earned his millions is now a free agent (not receiving any wage) and will accept a reasonable offer from the club as a gesture in order to play for the club.
Look at the squads though.. How many of Leeds and Burnley’s Xl have actually performed in the PL? That’s the thing I’m getting at.. the likes of Dan James who was awful in the PL but a great championship player, is he as good as Adingra? Tanaka, Gruev and Ampadu again all performed at a championship level would you have them over Diarra, Le Fee and Neil/Sidiki? I’d argue their CB’s are better because we’ve yet to bring another in but in terms of full backs I wouldn’t swap Hume for Bogle and I’ve no idea about this new lad they’ve brought in. Firpo is off so he’s out of the question. They just had players who were further along in their career and had more experience at that level than we did last season, nothing more. Our midfield 3 had a combined age of about 20.
We'll have that with 4 capable wingers plus the fluid strikers and versatile midfielders we have imo. Tell me how we can keep 5 wingers happy? I just can't see it.
Most teams have 5 wingers. In fact we usually do. Last season was a bit different we had 4 and ended up with only 1 fit
Wilder built teams capable of getting out of the Championship but hopeless once they made it ... ... I really believe we're capable of more.
well i was wondering how the club would handle the promotion and i honestly never expected this, they do not even surprise me as much now i think i am getting used to them 'upstaging' themselves every time. i am also not even looking at players we might bring in or bid on because i know these lads are doing it all properly and anyone brought in will have been carefully watched and vetted. IF i was to pull a doubt out of it it would simply be the fact that i like to see a team built from defence first but wtf, these lads have earned the right to just get on with it and anyone devoid of confidence in them now will never get any. it's also not just the players but the backroom staff as well, there is going to be one hell of a battle in training because they all have to prove themselves worthy..this might just be a far better season than we expected. re: hendo, seem to remember him being quoted as saying the best pace to make a difference was to be there...now, he did not stay there long and iirc he has never taken any wages, maybe he realised when he got there just how wrong he was, takes a big man to walk away from all that money (and possibly admit fault) so if he does come back he gets a clean slate from me, i was not happy when he first went in all honesty.
Way different mate, for me. I was so against Defoe and got a bit of hammer fod it. But he hadnt kicked a ball in anger for a year or so. It was all bit impossible for him physically to make a go of it. Henderson has slowed a lot, but he has been playing. Great option off the bench and to guide the team imo.
Agree to disagree marra. We've got flexibility in Isidor, Mayenda, Le Feè, Sadiki, Diarra and Huggins in the most unimaginable injury crisis. Given we're gonna play a max of about 45 games, I just don't see the value of a £20m winger on the bench... At this point. If we upgrade everywhere else and still have some money to throw around then great.
But I think we’ll get a 10/acm/flexible forward We’ll need to adjust systems not just play the same on with different players. If we’re chasing a game throw on a 10 for an 8, an extra forward etc.
Yes it’s a crap article but they quoted De Telegraaf. No idea if that’s also speculation/ a load of crap
