Doubt it, he’s proven and right in the peak of his career. He will want to be winning things not getting game time and putting himself in the shop window.
Something Wednesday fans have been saying to those who think that their owner selling up will solve all their problems regarding their embargo. It won’t. I know a Wednesday fan and they are in far more danger than we are.
The way people’s concerns get disregarded as ‘bed-wetting’ or ‘pant-pissing’ on here really is a talent. Putting a spin on the three-window fee restriction as ‘well, it could be worse!’ is amazing. Seriously, some have missed their calling in life as editors for Pravda.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cd1rlkjkxx0o Oxford had their three-window fee restriction reduced on appeal to a £3,500 fine and a one-window suspended sentence which allowed them to sign players for fees last season. They argued their case as being due to an isolated administrative error. Be interesting to see what City’s defence is during the appeal.
It's looking as if we might do well to hit the woodwork next season....A bit OTT I know, but I've got a feeling it might not be that bad!!! It's called blind optimism.
Think with what's being suggested regarding multiple clubs/ organisations owed money the key wording in that is 'isolated administration error'. I fear we're up sh1t creak without a paddle
Not a chance we get away with that though if it's multiple offences to other clubs as well? I reckon absolute best case is we get it downgraded to just this summer, which wouldn't be the end of the world I don't think. Would be a real shame to miss out on Zambrano and Frigan though!
I agree. These are the factors the Disciplinary Commission will take into consideration when judging whether the initial sanction was disproportionate. Personally, I don’t have much hope and I think City’s lawyers will have worked miracles if they come away with no immediate fee restriction. I think Buckingham said the Barry loan fee was close to 100 days overdue and it appears us not paying the fee on time was intentional rather than inadvertent which I think would work against us.
Burnsey has been great at asking the questions we all would want to. I get why McCann didn't like him. Straight to the point and put him on the spot which he wouldn't like.
Based on the timeframe given by Buckingham, it seems like the Barry fee should’ve been paid at the end of February and the 30-day grace period was up to the end of March. The only thing I can imagine working in City’s defence is if they had a written agreement from Aston Villa to delay the payment until the summer.
Companies mostly stretch payment times it’s not incompetence it’s deliberate depending on cash flow - except in this case the consequences are dire on occasion.
Because some of us try to be optimistic and not totally pessimistic which is as bad the other way . I’m normally pretty cynical about these things but hope at all times the bad things are not true .
No one has said it could be worse, some have said the transfer embargo for 3 transfer windows is not cast in stone, it can be appealed against and it is possible that the issue can be sorted.
No smugness here son. I'm not the one praying for the club to go bust so I could be proven right. Weird.
