No. He doesn't like it. But if he's forced into it he will in certain situations, which is surely a strength over blind dedication to a philosophy regardless... He's a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 guy though historically.
the 3 players we were heavily linked with are seemingly all gone baz, o brien and mcburnie but who wouldnt want to be in the maldives lad
technically its a working holiday he's got it for free to write a travel guide or review on it its probably a 10 grand holiday
can’t he go on the 1st of September? It’s hot there all the time I’m sure it is… I think we sign McBurnie…
Apparently there's a really wet season where it's horrendous there. There are cheap deals to go there but inevitably during the rainy season where it's just a wall of rain. Anyway, he's really not that indispensable, he's a journalist. Someone else can report the news while he's away.
I'm sure he can do journalist stuff from the Maldives, I hear they've got electric, phones and everything there.
I'm not sure his travel work is for Reach PLC, it certainly isn't for HDM. Would you do work for one job/employer while away working another job/employer? I certainly wouldn't. Smailes has been picking up the more 'ITK' articles/updates anyway. Their contact will be the same person anyway. I think people forget this is Baz' job, especially with all the **** he gets. He's paid to report on the club. He's not employed but the club, he's not even a fan (I'm sure local journals develop an affinity). He's a HDM employee. All the clickbait articles, thats a Reach PLC thing. People claim he's wrong about things, he's not he's reporting what he's told by his sources, and they're probably right at that moment but out of date almost as quick. That's a bit of a rant but he gets some really undeserved stick and people think he owes them something.
I've always found it odd how he publicises on his X account bio that he "dislikes the transfer window". Surely in the job that he is in, the transfer window should be a peak time when his role really thrives and comes to life. Perhaps he lacks passion for it. Obviously just my own personal observations. Always found him not very quick off the mark throughout his tenure.
I reckon most journalists would hate it because of how much running around they have to do, whereas during the season their job is a lot more straight forward.
