It might be that we want a Reading player and he's a sweetener. They have that Andre Garcia who has been their first choice LB, but he's only 17 and I can't help but think that while it's impressive he's played an entire season in League One at that level, he'll get the **** kicked out of him in the Championship.
He'd probably want something like Giles is on, but if it means he signs a three year deal, it would be worth paying.

he might be rated still a bit by some of the coaches and this gives him the opportunity to go see if he will excel, and if he does, he could challenge for a starting spot with us or we get a fe

Most people think Matty desperately need consistent game time. Say he gets that at Reading next season and becomes a standout player. Wouldn’t we want an option to bring him back into the City fold?
