Oddly enough, Philogene didn't come here on massive wages. He was rumoured to be on about £5,000 a week at Villa and we doubled it and then added a bit more. Carvalho was on £40,000 a week at Liverpool, it's how much of it we were paying that is a mystery and you'd hope it wasn't all of it. Coupled with Giles, Omur, Connolly and Tufan, we had some pretty hefty hitters in that squad in 23/24.
That's fair enough, I'm the same with everything else so I'd expect the exact same with what I've written. What I don't like is the passive aggressive digs at the posters. Happens a lot on here actually, there's a lot of usage of the phrase "certain posters" as if the context of the post doesn't indicate exactly who they are referring to, and then pull the "oh you thought I was talking about you, don't be so big headed." As my old gaffer used to say "call a **** a ****, don't pretend you aren't talking to the **** if they're being a ****." He then called me a **** (affectionately).
I have no idea what you said, but putting together all the claims, wages late, fire sale of players, debt to banks etc it was claimed/assumed we were/are in financial trouble.
Aaaah..... we dont need these loan out deals with someone like MJ. is there a commitment to sign...?... are they paying all the wages?... even a sale fee of say 200k would have been a help no?
I still don't get it with Jacob. It sounds like Giles is off and we're only signing one left back, so surely we need someone else for that position and Jacob would've been a good option. It sometimes seems like no one is ever good enough for us to stick with and there must always be this constant churn of players.
Maybe it suggests we're keeping Macca? He may feel more comfortable with staying if he's not fighting too many for his position. Not forgetting that Drameh and Coyle have played there too (I'm a fan of either in that position btw).
If she hadnt gone on to be the biggest attention seeker going your argument might have held some weight. There are plenty of ladies on TV and Radio that are not narcissistic, Holden is on a whole new level. Thankfully I rarely watch TV, certainly not the type of mainstream programming she is involved in, so I dont have to put up with her.
Matty is 24 now so he can still improve but needs to play first team football. This loan could do him a power of good.
Macca didn't let anyone down when he filled in at left back. Always gave his all which is all we can ask. Left back has been an issue for a few seasons now. The signing of Vinagre appeared to be the answer but that soon nose dived.
To be fair you could say the same about Jacob whenever he has played. If he wants regularly football I wish him good luck, but he’d be a very useful squad player for me.
