    If we've indeed signed Barry it's a great statement of intent. You'd hope it will help us to be taken seriously, give the likes of McBurnie another nudge to see us as a good place to come. I think it happened two years ago with Twine, then Philogene and later Carvalho and Giles. Last summer we had the opposite - rejection after rejection and it took us ages to get going. This will be an important box ticked if it's true.

    Fortunately it does matter. He probably won’t get anyone above us willing to go in for him due to his ban and his wanting to be here buys us time to negotiate around the edges.

    I’ve seen someone suggest on Twitter that Zambrano was mentioned by Acun on the phone so maybe some progress.
