It’s almost like there’s always been a long term plan! I hope those who battered KLD and KS over the last 2 or 3 years are feeling very stupid right now.
If we look the last 2 playoff winners Luton didn’t really spend a lot they built for going down and coming back up (that worked out well for them didn’t it?) and pocket money for the new stadium. Southampton have been poor in recent times in the transfer market gone are the days of them signing top young talent that’s how they ended up where they are they missed on replacements for out going players This gives me hope that the prem isn’t a closed shop yet
Can we somehow bring back the Mignolet song for someone. Ha’waaaay the 3 syllable signings. Dem-be-Le (I’m aware Diarra is one, as would be Diallo)
Nice post mate, good take on it that. It's the speed and unruffled way it's all been done that's staggered me. Even if we hadn't went up, this lot would have held their course, and probably stepped up another notch or two. There's a long list of teams in the Championship that have been away from the top level for years and look nowhere near getting back, always having yet another reset. Most obviously Sheff Wed for 25 years or so and heading in the other direction. Why they KLD did it I don't know. But pick this club up he did, and he and KS have shown any other club a text book approach on how to pursue the goal, without spending the earth.
I cannot wait to see what they do next. Never mind the squad they have put together at the start of the season. I am positively giddy with all of this excitement and positivity.
