I think the Shelvey link is probably BS and see all the reservations about his attitude etc, but quality wise he would be an excellent option(if he is fit!)

It's understood there's also interest in Alzate from Serie A and the MLS, with City hoping the level of interest in the stylish performer creates something of a bidding war in the coming weeks.
While the club rates Alzate highly, it's believed that the level of transfer fee his sale could command for a player who arrived on a free transfer would be difficult to ignore.
Elsewhere, the Tigers are continuing discussions over a potential loan move for a left-back, which they hope could be concluded soon, while discussions with Oliver McBurnie continue and a host of other possible new recruits.

Sort of, but a lot of the time these deals are dragging on all summer without people knowing about it, and then the deal gets done on deadline day. The unusual thing with McBurnie is that it's public knowledge that we're after him. Alzate last summer probably spent all summer waiting for a better offer which ultimately never came, and so he signed for us.
Imagine we’d hear something clearer about McBurnie this week. Guess there’s no real rush till next when they’re back in but if it drags on beyond then might be cause for concern.
Could understand the delay when there was a question mark over Wilder but surely that’s been clarified since Ruben’s appointment there.
