Really hope we don’t listen to offers for Mayenda unless it’s ridiculous. Kids got everything we’ve lacked for years, god knows how we found him!
Wages will be too big for us, and I fear attitude too, we clearly have a big focus on the right characters joining the group. Does fit elements of us though, once great potential but lost his way. Unrealistic imo tho.
One of our first acts of the summer should be to give him a nice wage rise on a 5 year deal. Think he has the highest ceiling of the lot me, including jobe. Id give him the number 9 role for next season, he’s a maverick and might make the step up.
Totally, I really enjoyed watching him at Dortmund when he 1st broke out but he's been shocking since then His attitude is shocking and that won't change, never worth the money he's on - i would rather a player not as technical but who would give everything to the shirt and the club
What do you make of Gio Reyna? Huge potential never kicked on, leaving dortmund could he be another speakman special? I’ll openly admit I’ve probably watched him 4 times so genuinely no idea if he’s realistic or if he’s even any good
Not a fan tbh, looked class when he 1st broke through but always injured and had more bad seasons than good Wouldn't be worth signing imo, but it always comes down to who else is available and what our budget etc. Is like
I just dont see that exceptional talent anymore, agree when he 1st broke through he was class. As a winger i just don't see him doing the things I'd want our wingers to do next season - doesn't qttack with pace, struggles to beat a man, isn't a goal threat and poor workrate/defensive work Years of a shocking attitude has taken him backwards and I would hate to see how much of a negative influence he would be on our players What has made us successful is team spirit, any new signings have to fit into or enhance that
I'll admit I've barely paid attention the the promoted 3 in the prem this season apart from being aware they were relegated, Clarke to Ipswich and Delap doing well so I thought I'd have a look at their general recruitment to see where we're headed. **** me, I see why they were relegated. I don't think money could be spent worse in many cases. Up to £15m for Muric is hilarious even if it'll never be reached. If we sign either of the Ayew brothers I'm leaving never to return.
Ahhh fair enough hadn’t realised he’d played so little recently till just checked, think I got carried away with the fact his dad played here and he’s technically a mackem haha
When we announced Seelt - we did a handshake emoji and a dutch flag and genuinely all the comments were baffled at who it could be
Made a comment earlier about how selling Jobe and Watson may free us up to make some substantial deals this summer. However do we have a timing issue? If we complete these deals before July 1st (as seems likely) does that mean we ‘lose’ the PSR effect in the accounts for a championship season?
June 1st is generally ‘contract day’ isn’t it? Would be based on when payment made rather than when deals done I imagine, we could declare funds later date I’m sure.
June 30th usually. Transfer profit on the books is immediate so if the registration is moved it would appear on the 24/25 accounts, which I guess don’t count towards the prem PSR calcs. I’m sure the club has it handled but it’s something to be wise about. Generally in previous years the rush to get deals done before end of June has been about clubs digging themselves out of a hole. We don’t have that this year. However maybe the winds opening early means there’s some sort of dispensation available.
I’m bias but to me is it really Sunderland without an Irish(rep( lad and with Browne more than likely heading out the door we need one. So BRING
Sad that Cirkin didn't declare for the ROI tbh dont think hell get a sniff of the england squad but could get 50 + caps over the Irish sea,
