Let’s hope their team is just as complacent. it can be said that Sunderland are on the crest of a wave now, we’ve managed Mundle through a playoff period and he seems unscathed. the Sunderland they play against could be very different than the Sunderland Coventry played and I’m banking on it.
We’ve had 2 very close games with them this season, both sides had injuries then and now both are full strength, tough game but do not fear them at all, they’ll be saying the same about us it has all the makings of a good game
The stars have aligned that will allow us to play Mundle on the left and Le Fee in the middle - something we’ve been unable to do for the last 48 games. This is definitely our chance…
If VAR isn't used, I think it should be for a big game like this. I don't know how many times we've been screwed over by refs. Lots of examples of opposition players fouling over and over and we commit a foul and it's a card. We kick the ball away, yellow card. They kick the ball away, play on. If the ref is ****, at least be **** for both sides.

Maybe us having to have to play Coventry was a blessing in disguise. For weeks we expected to be playing Bristol, and they then showed how bloody awful they are over the 2 legs, Sheffield in the end really didn’t have to try that hard. We on the other hand had to dig in, and show what a single minded team we are, and raise our game several levels. Don’t know if Sheffield after falling short for automatics a few weeks before the end of the season and then coasting thru the games against Bristol will be able to raise their game several levels in a one off game against us.
They would gobb off based on us playing really deep and defensively however I can't see us playing the same way don't forget we turned them over at our place and nearly done them with ten men at theirs. Keep Hamer quiet and it's a done deal
To me it’s very similar to the League 1 playoffs, had 2 really tough games against Portsmouth, and then a final game against a team we need to respect but not fear.
on paper ( arguably) Sheff Utd probably should beat us....BUT The game is not played on paper, We beat them once and were the better team at their place. Sheffield have proved against relegation threatened teams that they are vulnerable...lets see how they get on in a one off match, winner takes all...against a team that finished 4th, which has its injured players back and can finally play players in their rightful positions in a game that actually means something. I think Sheff Utd are. a decent team, but certainly not as good as some say and certainly not as good as so called pundits fawn over. Lets say i'm confident.
I am never ever confident that we will win, but cut out the threat of Hamer and Moore up front and we stand a very good chance. PS that is if we pick the right team and that for me means no Roberts, and two up front with Elf in front of a diamond in a 4/4/2 unleashing Mundle to finish them off on the 60 minute mark, done and dusted.. OaU
Just double checked before I posted on here. In 2 games we've played against Sheffield Utd this season, they haven't faced both Mundle and Le Fee. Scouting them and seeing how they play is 1 thing, trying to physically stop them is another. We saw against Coventry in the second half of extra time just how much putting them in their positions totally changed how we play.
I hope so. He has proven tactically he can set the team up AND they can carry out he's orders. Sheff U are no mugs but I am hopeful we fly out the traps, stop Hamer, press them and show what a fantastic team we are on our day.
Aye . . . . they're so much better than us so we might as well not bother going Let's hope that the players have a different attitude, eh
