there are so many silly posts you are best not assuming they are jokingSorry but the goalposts did move. Results that happen are reality. You're taking such a strange stance that I'm slightly unsure whether or not it's one of your joke positions.

You’re trying to argue that closing a 3 point gap in 28 games is unrealistic.
If the team you're chasing don't drop points then it's impossible, never mind unrealistic.
The reality for us as it turned out was that to finish even 15th from where we where when Selles took over would've required us to have the 7th best form in the league in the period since he was appointed.
2 of which were promptly injured and 2 of which weren't fit/hardly played.8 new arrivals in January.
Concrete reports in turkiye suggest acun wanted arda turan to be citys next manager but didn't happen. Now i'm presuming this is as of yesterday and not pre selles, either way i think selles is a dead man walking. Acun will lose the fans if he sacks ruben, it'd be a disgrace imo.
It’s understood that the Turkish legend and Ilicali are close friends and have met recently to discuss Turan’s plans moving forward, with him linked to the job at Shakhtar Donetsk. Turan has previously been on Ilicali’s managerial radar at City, but it’s thought any potential move to the MKM Stadium this summer is not currently on the agenda.
Would he get a visa?Hes an absolute awful human erdogan sycophant
Brought a gun to a hospital etc
Would he get a visa?
I think the problem at City is not managerial ability but owner expectations.
Try buying a decent striker, Acun, and then see where we go.
Signing a striker is viewed as imperative and this week’s meetings will also focus on pushing ahead with attempting to secure their key targets.
We’re talking about the targets Selles was set when he was appointed, I don’t think Acun and the board had a crystal ball when they were setting them. Obviously teams are going to find form and pick up points, I think that’s what was expected of Selles. We didn’t really did we.
This is from when he was appointed:
Acun Ilicali says he would not have appointed Ruben Selles as Hull City's new coach if he was scared of relegation, but he was more concerned with finding someone who could develop the team for the long term.
Selles takes charge of the Tigers for the first time at home to Watford tonight with his side bottom of the Championship after Saturday's defeat to Blackburn Rovers.
“If I was afraid of being relegated, if I had any fear, I would never go with a young manager who has never been in the Championship,” said Turkish owner/chairman Ilicali as he presented the 41-year-old to the media.
From that I don’t think scraping relegation by the skin of our teeth on the final day was the goal. Particularly not after another fairly big spend and 8 new arrivals in January.
So how I read it - he was likely a Walter or selles alternate.Baz claims
We need play off form to finish mid-table. Selles isn’t a miracle worker.

Good so conversation over. Acun isn't going to sack him as he's a long term appointment, even if we'd gone down he'd have kept him.
Except....Acun's not know for flip-flopping is he?
@Amin not really quoting you but found the text you found interesting and little bit hilarious from Acun .
From my point of view I really want some stability, some truly longer term planning and patience from the owner. Consolidate mid-table next season and build for a more realistic promotion push in 2-3 years with a stronger settled squad.
Look at those team's players compared to oursCoventry were 3 points above us when he was appointed and finished in the play offs.
Portsmouth were 2 points behind us bottom of the table and finished mid table.
QPR were in equal points with equal games played and a worse goal difference and finished mid table.
It was hardly an impossible task, it was a 3 point gap.
I agree with you here, only ever going to happen if a top replacement.I don’t think Selles will get replaced unless Acun has managed to get a blow your socks off kind of appointment.
