The problem is if he hadn't freshened things up for the last 6 games and we got beat then people would be blaming him for that (some of these are still blaming for changing the team).I'm trying not to be revisionist. I've been telling people for weeks that the time to judge is after the play offs have concluded. Only then will we know whether RLB's game plan for the last 6 weeks was foolish, or a master stroke.
Having said all that, It's ****ing hard to cling on to that approach right now. Today was absolutely woeful.
The only tiny shred of optimism I have right now is that it was clear today that the players weren't trying. I can only assume that will change on Friday
Maybe, just maybe, that if we get beat then it is because the other team was better on the day.
Personally I think he was right in his thoughts/ideas, although I have been disappointed with the last 2 performances with an almost full strength team out (it was a long drive back from Oxford).
I will hopefully get a ticket for the away leg and will be cheering them on as if the last few weeks haven't happened, because at the end of the day we finished fourth and the team deserve our full support.
RLB has done a great job in getting the team to finish fourth with, yet again, a injury savaged season, which, if everyone was honest, they would have snapped the hands off if forth was offered at the end of last season, when a lot of people were worried about relegation.
Let's all stop bickering with each other just because we see things differently and get behind the lads for these next 3 games (that's my positive side kicking in
)
