I'm trying not to be revisionist. I've been telling people for weeks that the time to judge is after the play offs have concluded. Only then will we know whether RLB's game plan for the last 6 weeks was foolish, or a master stroke.

Having said all that, It's ****ing hard to cling on to that approach right now. Today was absolutely woeful.

The only tiny shred of optimism I have right now is that it was clear today that the players weren't trying. I can only assume that will change on Friday
The problem is if he hadn't freshened things up for the last 6 games and we got beat then people would be blaming him for that (some of these are still blaming for changing the team).
Maybe, just maybe, that if we get beat then it is because the other team was better on the day.
Personally I think he was right in his thoughts/ideas, although I have been disappointed with the last 2 performances with an almost full strength team out (it was a long drive back from Oxford).
I will hopefully get a ticket for the away leg and will be cheering them on as if the last few weeks haven't happened, because at the end of the day we finished fourth and the team deserve our full support.
RLB has done a great job in getting the team to finish fourth with, yet again, a injury savaged season, which, if everyone was honest, they would have snapped the hands off if forth was offered at the end of last season, when a lot of people were worried about relegation.
Let's all stop bickering with each other just because we see things differently and get behind the lads for these next 3 games (that's my positive side kicking in :1980_boogie_down:)

Not a great result yesterday and I know most are struggling to stay positive but think I am probably the opposite.
What I seen was good patterns of play against a side who packed the box and made it difficult. I must of seen at least 5 occasions where our players pulled out of challenges they would normally make.
We created quite a few good opportunities especially from the wings and to be honest we should have gotten something from the game.
That said they done there homework and targeted Cirkin knowing he was just back from injury, and it paid off for them.
Not sure why we played with DN as advanced as we did and why Jobe is sitting so deep bit I guess there is some plan in place.
It was great to see Cirkin back and he definitely will be a big player moving into the play offs.
Also Enzo getting time in the centre as well will give us more options.
There were a lot of positives from yesterday but the result has probably stopped anybody looking for them.

And you’ve got the nerve to call other fans beliefs and opinions
Get ****ed Vic you owld creep

I’m not a ‘fan’ either, I’m a supporter who spends good money every single year following the club. A fan sits at home with no intention of watching us live, that’s not me.

That's just pure bullshit mate. I am a fan and a supporter and just because I can't get to games makes no difference.
Ohh and just to explain the term fan is derived from the word fanatical. Maybe look it up. Also the term support as in being a supporter.
You can have your little head to head about your opinions on the club and the manager but to try and denigrate other supporters and fans is not ok. Our club has a wide and diverse fan base but because you attend games you think your opinion matters more?
Every match is attended by fans they are the lifeblood of the sport. A sport by the way that you support. Get off your high horse and have a think about what it means to be a supporter or a fan.
Then maybe you may choose your words a bit more carefully.

WTF are you waffling on about?, I’ve never mentioned your son or time you leave the ground, I was referring to the decision of attending matches depending on team selection, but you really know that and swerved the point i was making…PATHETIC

Ok. So nothing to do with this match or threat then. Got ya.

Only caught the last 10 minutes of the game due to having to go to the Freeman, so won't comment on the game.

But a couple points I want to make.

Firstly, @RTB, thanks again for a great thread. You go out your way every week to do the match thread, and it really sets the scene for me, and really enjoy reading the thread on match day. Just wanted to say your efforts are really appreciated.

This kind of leads me on to my second point....the constant negativity.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind anyone being critical of a performance, a result etc.
It's when the same negative comments are repeated ad infinitum ( meaning - again and again in the same way; forever) it becomes bloody tedious. @Prehab26 and to a lesser extent @LD19SAFC, I'm gonna call you both out here for this.
If anyone calls you out for it, you double down and repeat it all again.

Can you not see what it's doing to the thread....it's certainly not creating debate!

Ha'Way lads, @RTB deserves better.

Strange post. Posted a few times after the game and nothing since 20.00.

We only allowed to post positive comments then? I mean we have lost 5 on the spin or something and scored a single goal in 8 games.

I really don't get people digging out supports who post their concerns.

It's not right that posters who've broken no forum rules should be "called out" for a difference of opinions.

Your never a real Sunderland supporter.
Real supporters back the lads through thick and thin, you 2 have formed a very negative twosome who seem to attempt to wind the majority up on here, RTB puts a lot of effort into these threads and both of you contribute very little positive posts on the match day threads,It’s disrespectful and I question if you are actually both season ticket holders. Why anyone would pay the money we do to chastise the club you apparently love is beyond me. Prehab you post some good content outside of match day threads, you clearly know your stuff but it’s clear as day you don’t rate RLB, that’s fine but sometimes you should just reign it in as it does look like your looking to wind people up.
RTB I apologise for reacting but I can’t sit back and watch people criticise the club I love.
We aren’t in good form my earlier post covers that but I will back the lads regardless

You question that we are season ticket holders ?

Outrageous.

No it's not. Exile got the same treatment.

I am absolutely disappointed by the moderation by it all too. It's incredibly bias, weak moderation and I can see why others fell foul.

Posting on here during the match raises my eyebrows, I find that outrageous. I’m lucky to get a signal in the ground and if I could posting on here would be the last thing on my mind

Since they sorted the 5g out it's fine. I post on here when I am bored during the game. Unfortunately that's a lot lately.

Getting stupid now this every match thread there’s personal vendettas it seems, no wonder so many good posters have started staying away, dread to think what it’ll be like if we lose on Friday

Agreed. We are all adults. Shame there is a inner circle. All views, positive, negative and in the middle should be acceptable.

I agree with you. Don’t think they’ve properly tried for weeks

I repeat, he does not want us to go up. Till next season, if an investor comes in the money pressure comes off him.
If we don't go up, he the investor and kld will bring in a small wad of cash to keep us in top 1 to 4 next season.
But that will depend on our sales of players.

Oh and the pitch gets dug up after the rugby game.

That’s your opinion Bob but I don’t believe it’s the case for a second.

There isn’t a businessman in the world that would pass up being promoted into the money league (even if to go straight back down)

No. It's not just value the authentic value of a forum. Not some weasel like behaviour like you. Constantly chirping up on new thread, the fact I and others have dared to leave a game early. It's pathetic, weak and just not needed. People can choose what they do. Literally 30 thousand or more left before the lap of appreciation yday. You calling them out ?
