You’re absolutely entitled to your opinion mate, and to defend it against criticism. It’s just with it happening so much, it drags the match day thread down which is an important part of the forum. Maybe both sides agreeing to differ more would help as changing peoples’ minds is normally difficult. This is a good community but we’re losing more and more respected members with how it’s been going recently.
Fair enough. Just defending my view point. I reply to posters most of the time. Don't just post waffle for the crack.
No, my son wanted to be away from the hour but managed to keep him there to 88/89 mins then we were away. My mate stayed and said it looked deflated and and a bit pointless really. A few k stayed maybe. 30k plus left.
My mate wanted to so I did, was barely a few thousand there. Felt embarrassed for the players having to bother tbh!
I did, wasn’t many like, south stand did there best to rally them as they went passed but was all abit flat by then
Yep. Sad state of affairs when we had more there at the end of tye 15 point season with seasoned professionals, than we did for a season we finished 4th with kids! A few stayed. Said before the game if you didn’t want to stay to clap them, you shouldn’t have gone! They deserved the applause of far more fans, rather than those who stayed.
Nice to meet you too, the players walk around at the end was appreciated by those that stayed, it’s a shame more didn’t stay. If we can’t appreciate a fourth place finish with the playoffs to come, I have no idea what those that left would consider worthy of their appreciation!
We were never good enough or rich enough to finish top 3 against clubs with recent parachute payments, so to finish 4th behind those clubs is an achievement in itself, however the way we have been playing the last few months gives me no reasons to believe we will beat Coventry let alone win the final. You never know in football though and I could be pleasantly surprised. Let's hope so
Christ. It was worse than described. I just wish we approached the final part of the season with professionalism and drive to win, imagine a full stadium yday with everyone proper behind them with momentum. For me, that would give us a better chance.
he didn’t say season, he said it’s been ****e for a while. And 23rd in the 10 game form table backs that up.
yes valid, but I can understand the bad sentiment. I’d definitely have stayed but then if I pay for a ticket I’d never leave early because I’m a tight git and want my moneys worth
Thought I’d try Sheepfolds after the game yesterday. Was absolutely rammed immediately after the FT whistle. Is this where all the early leavers go?
QPR interim boss on his special Sunderland reunions https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/25136936.qpr-interim-boss-special-sunderland-reunions/ FOR QPR stand-in boss Kevin Betsy, Saturday's game at Sunderland was special for two reasons. Firstly, he was delighted to see Rangers pull off a surprise win at the end of what has been a turbulent week following the exit of boss Marti Cifuentes. But Betsy will now be supporting Sunderland in the play-offs, for the former England coach knows several of the Black Cats stars well and loved the chance to briefly catch up with them at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.... "I've coached a lot of Sunderland's players, some of them when they were 12,13," said Betsy, who has no interest in taking charge of QPR on a permanent basis. "Pat Roberts I had at Fulham at the club, we signed him from Wimbledon and he went on to sign for Man City for a lot of money. It was great to see him. I had Dennis Cirkin at England, Jobe Bellingham as well - lovely boy, really good footballer. Dan Ballard at Arsenal as well. "I've watched Sunderland for years, fantastic club. The passion, support. I used to come to the training ground a lot, I came to watch Sam Greenwood when he was in the England set up, it's an amazing place. "I was actually on loan at Hartlepool as a player, so I know a bit about the area. It's a great football club and I hope they do well in the play-offs, they have been one of the best teams in the division and that's been shown over a 46-game season. I'm sure they'll do well. "You always care about the players you coach, forget about the tactics. You coach some of these players when they are 12,13 - to see them realise their dream is beautiful for a coach. I'm a fan of a lot of these players." Betsy had to put that connection to one side on Saturday and was thrilled with QPR's performance and result, with Nicolas Madsen's early goal securing all three points for the visitors. He said: "We weren't sure what kind of team Sunderland would select today, we thought there might actually be more rotation today with those play-off games coming up. "It's a really strong team, squad, and the way they play is a credit to the club. But you have to come with a game plan and we didn't want to just come and defend, we wanted to be a threat and to get creative players on the ball while being really resilient out of possession. "We knew the areas where Sunderland like to attack, their main threats - they can open you up within a second but each and every player applied themselves. "The goal was really good creativity, we wanted to give them freedom in the final third. We picked Ash [Harrison Ashby] to play on the right - some people would look at that and say he's a full back but he's trained extremely well and he's shown quality in the final third this season in flashes....
