Maybe it’s time to just let things play out and enjoy the break till next season, bin the doom and gloom it’s not always what it seems or as bad as it sounds.

Come on. This is City. We all know it can be.
as chazz said in the loan thread

i believe it too

mehlem is made for championship football in my opinion, surely we keep him?
he has every attribrute you want for a championship player

since he's gone over there though, his team could genuinely get promoted
which is my point

sell him for good money if he gets promoted or keep him here

Suspect there'll be quite a bit of turnover again, to be able to strengthen and trim the wagebill at the same time. Recruitment really is going to have to be sharp.

well for me, from what we saw

i think mehlem should stay, he has everything you want for a championship midfielder

I actually think we recruited quite well in January all things considered. Gelhardt & Egan made valuable contributions, Matazo looked good until his injury, Crooks although in and out of the team came up with some important goals. Jury still out on Joseph but I still think he has something to offer. Lincoln was probably the disappointing one.

You should post more often

You always post such good stuff
And i agree

Our seasons completely diff if matazo and barry dont get season ending injuries

Gelhardt and egan were great

Crooks seemed to majorly struggle with fitness but even then
All 3 of his goals were ****ing vital

Joseph cost too much though for what i think is a league one player

I quite like Lincoln again he is another that come in with team under pressure I don’t think he has had the chance to play as he would like, hopefully he will get a chance next season as he will have a preseason and maybe show what he can do, he also likes being at the club and wants to stay unlike Giles as an example.

its likely boro sack carrick
and anyways there's no way they buy giles

we are stuck with him unless we give him away

If we can’t sell him then he will have no choice but to up his game if he wants game time but more likely he may go on loan again if no one wants him,me I would check Joseph in that role.

I thought he was a loan, didn’t realise we had him permanently. He just isn’t quick enough to be a winger imo.

That’s how we play him but he is an attacking midfielder and maybe he should get a chance there he could be lethal putting balls through to open the play it’s if and buts but whoever is in charge preseason will probably look at how they all play and decide to give him a chance there if he is still here.

Agreed. What I think is worth mentioning, Selles made a point in January tranfer window of only bringing in players that want to fight for the cause. Gelhardt, Crooks and Amrabat play like they give a damn. Crooks was the first one to go to the away end after the match today, he cared. Barry and Matazo were great incomings, it's a shame they got injured. He deserves to rebuild with players he deems fit, quality and mentality. Also worth menitioning, Selles had to tell the lads to join and celebrate. It was almost fake and forced by some of them, that was very telling.
