Philogene is a ‘ victim’ of having loads of skill and tricks but seems to find it hard to really play a simpler game when it’s required , and as Ipswich need it he will appear a bit ‘spare’ I noticed he was trying to just play simple passes but he was never quick . He did have heart for a tackle , more than Abu ATM I hope Philo adapts and makes it - I would ask why Villas manager decided he didn’t want him- I would guess he wouldn’t run and play dynamically like Villa do ? He did have the habit of stopping with the ball on the wing when ahead of the oppo defence . Anyway that’s my garbled summary .
Players like Philogene play a high risk game. Sometimes it comes off and they are a genius and unplayable, sometimes it doesn't and they are greedy and lack the vision to read the game around them. Another in this mold was ex-City favourite Hatem Ben Arfa, at times what he did at Newcastle was truly world class but, as illustrated during his time spent with us, that wasn't always the case. So where does a manager go with such players? Let them do their thing and accept that they'll excite and frustrate in equal measure or coach the flair out of them and end up with Jack Grealish?

KLP and Delap have both settled into being very good Premier League players. Interesting to see that Philogene, Carvalho and Greaves all struggled and Morton disappeared.

Greaves started well was getting plaudits then got injured now he can’t seem to get in above Burgess. Shame for us as you’d hope he would’ve been a standout and got us a decent fee from the sell on Fabio is a victim of Brentford bedding in players and Damsguard being on the form of his career
That's misleading. The division is that his team are good enough to stop fans protesting against the owners. So you could also say that he's mending divisions
Think greaves is great positonally, a beast in the air and awareness His big weakness especially at prem level is when his 1 v 1 defending He gets turned in and out
