I think if Hamas use emergency services as cover, which I strongly suspect they do, I would need more understanding of the events that occurred that night. Why were the soldiers in such a destructive and killing mindset (it's war!). What had occurred previously before the operatives arrival (had there been a fierce gun battle so they were psyched up). And I'd just like to get my head around why the medics were going there and what were they expecting to find. Also why haven't we seen bodycam footage in past when accusations have been chucked about before, why only on this one ocassion in the last couple of years, or however long this war has been going on. It sounds on the face of it like one massive **** up, and I'm guessing people panicked as what to do, when they realised it was medics they killed, a flashing light might be ignored by someone psyched up and adrenalin pumping.
I just think there's a disconnect between the way we think armies should operate in war, and the reality on the ground in Gaza.
Rightly, on here, in society in general and indeed in international law, deliberately attacking Ambulances, medical workers, doctors, nurses, aid workers, journalists etc is seen as morally bankrupt and is a war crime.
But as we've seen during this conflict, Israel are doing it time and time again, with little to no sanctions against them.
They have a blanket ban on foreign media and journalists going in, (deliberately in order to try and hide the truth) so we rely on the accounts of the red crescent, map, UN etc, which then get dismissed by Israel (and CK) as spreading lies, and in Netanyahu's case he labels them as Anti-Semitic for criticising Israel's actions. The West say nothing, give them diplomatic immunity and continue to supply them with arms.
In my opinion, this results in a situation where Israel see that they can do whatever the **** they like. So attacking ambulances and murdering the medics is just another ordinary day for them and if anybody asks questions, just say it was Hamas operatives.
The only reason there's been such an outcry in this instance, is because they got found out. Tried to lie about it to cover it up and then got totally exposed when that phone footage emerged.
