It’s sad but then no more sad than any other war. You’ll be pleased the civilian to combatant ratio has remained so low throughout. Or not maybe for all your grown-up tears based on increasingly little as more evidence emerges that goes against your emotional wailing.

Again though, for all your waffling, you won’t read any evaluation of the figures you get all moist about. You accuse me of arrogance but won’t acknowledge it. There’s nothing more sensible and rational than reading a serious evaluation which, to the best of my knowledge, is based on robust figures or at least the most robust we have.

Here's my view - which has never changed - any deaths of children and women through the actions of war / conflict are reprehensible, abhorrent and just plain wrong ... however, acts by deranged individuals can't really be compared to those of regimes, and when such acts are perpetrated by modern, otherwise civilised regimes, that is just mind boggling ...

I'm sure your 'robust' figures are, as you say, 'to the best of your knowledge' the most reliable ... but you'll understand that whilst Israel denies access to fully independent observation and collation, there will be (very justified) scepticism on both the independence and validity of such a source ...

Sucksta; would you say that death threats made by football fans to players who, for instance, force a transfer, would be the views of every fan of that club? ... or just a very bitter individual?... do you also think any individual making such threats is capable of carrying them out?

Action on armed violence, who use the figures supplied by the Health ministry (who supplied the names of 83%of the casualties recently) and who are one of the sources that Oxfam cite, put the figure at 74% of total deaths being civilians. Which is a ratio of almost 3:1.

So for every combatant killed, three civilians are killed.

... and therein lies the problem - there is absolutely no real reason for any anybody to really doubt those figures or the rationale ... unless ...

... and if you consider the scale of building destruction and the Israeli admittance of strikes on particular hospitals, schools and refugee camps ... it is more than 'good reason' to believe that such strikes would kill a disproportionate number of non-combatants

Not much he can do about the replies.

The deaths of under-10s are an even gender split while deaths of 13-17s are highly skewed towards males. In a society which is 50% under 18 it’s not exactly a stretch to suggest a lot of teenage boys are recruited.

There’s evaluation of the evaluation to be done I’m sure. It’s a lot of hypotheses based on what is known and we’ll never have an exact death number as there’s always natural deaths, people killed by Hamas, unnatural deaths not because of Israel, deaths that are technically natural but could be argued are due to Israel etc.

But it’s a lot more useful than just “X people have died” and the resulting stomping feet in middle-class Bedfordshire.

    It’s quoting Hamas’ figures, Foss.

    Dunno mate

But I have stack of clips like that.

Palestinian women and children calling for terror.

Best to just wipe them all off the face of the earth so as we don't have to be cleaning up body parts in London sometime in the future.

What we should all be concerned about is if you can to get a boat from palastine to Dover.

Not terrorist recruits crying in piles of rubble
