Yeah it looked like the sort of place wannabe TOWIE types with Turkey teeth and Audis on finance live in Live, Laugh, Love new builds. It is a good rail line though. Anyone who lived there before that must have made a killing.
Not sure anyone did live there before, think it was just barren land / old quarry, they built the new roads when the station was built. please log in to view this image This is bluewater before it was built... please log in to view this image
Funnily just speaking about the Ebbsfleet theme park, the local paper has an article on it. The investors supposedly lost a £100M over it and the British taxpayer £5M
A big chunk of Ebbsfleet station was built on land owned by Blue Circle cement and primarily used as their sports and social club. Great football pitches back in the day. Most of the land around this area including the Bluewater shopping centre could be traced back to the cement industry due to chalk. I’m pretty sure Blue Circle owned most of it in the end. The other part of Ebbsfleet station and the housing estate opposite Ebbsfleet football ground used to be a company called DRG sacks, who back in the day employed 1500 or so people and where I served my apprenticeship. That housing estate must have been built 25+years ago when DRG ceased to exist. I can’t remember if the station or housing estate came first. Going out towards Swanscombe peninsula where the Theme park was supposed to go is either small industrial or marshland. Nothing of any real interest before the theme park was muted. There have been a couple of other housing developments spring up over the last 10 years as the high speed train into London (17 minutes to St Pancras) has made this area prime commuter belt.
You’ll have a great time. We won there under Redknapp when in a similar position to you and that was with Benitez. With the clueless **** they have now you’re probably favourites.
Mate we wouldn't be favourites against ****ing Tranmere right now. The perfect game for any team struggling for form. I see Palmer hasn't scored for a while so expect him to bag at least a brace.
Was just looking at some odds for an insurance bet. Chelsea to win by 5+ with Palmer scoring twice is only 15/2
Following on from this and it turns out that Chelsea winning by 5+ goals is considered more likely than us getting a point. Just Roll on May FFS
The United situation is quite bizarre and certain aspects are just nonsensical - the cancellation of free lunches for staff is a PR disaster and a minimal cost saving in the grand scheme... Radcliffe has seemingly lost the plot and is throwing his toys ...
Arteta not giving up on the title. It would be silly to say anything else. We're in a good position but we could lose to Newcastle and it'll all change again. We still have to play arsenal as well. Nothing done yet.
Liverpool will drop a few points here and there. You might slip up and draw against Newcastle for instance. The thing is, I have zero confidence that this Arsenal team, as it is, can make up that points difference in what remains of this season. They cant score goals. Its that simple. However many points Liverpool will drop, Arsenal will drop more. If this was last seasons Arsenal, competing against this Liverpool team, then it might go down to the wire, but this Arsenal are not consistent enough, no way. Its over. I understand Arteta needs to keep his players believing right till the end, miracles can happen, but nah.......
You'll win it by 12 points at least, I know you're not tempting fate but deep down you must know it's done and dusted. Might be different if any of the chasing pack were in top form but their inconsistency is their only consistency. Actually had a call from a scouser this morning, he was telling me about the contract situation there.
