Apparently his doctor told him he was fully healed but it turned out he was a quack. I'm done now I promise
Revelliere. Excellent free agent signing. Connolly might have offered something by end of season, has started reasonably well at Millwall. Generally you’re probably right but it does work sometimes. Very unlikely we’ll be looking though.
Maybe we have agreed to register him if he gets fit he comes and plays and we start paying whatever wage contributions and loan fees have been agreed. If he doesn't make it back costs us **** all?
No chance will we be looking at frees, if they are still on a free by Feb then there's something wrong with them I don't want us having a huge squad and while I think we are short in a couple areas I like the business we've done in the 2 windows this yr I would rather a player like Le Fee than 2/3 solid championship players
I was surprised to see that Danns is injured. It's frustrating news. I think we've tried hard to bring in a striker this window and struggled to get some of our targets over the line(no blame on the club). I think by the time we've discovered the Danns issue, it's been too late to bring anyone else in. It's concerning to me, if the reports of up to 5 weeks are true; that's 7 games before he's even in contention. To be after a striker for the whole window and get one who's possibly available for the last 7-10 games isn't ideal.
To be fair the goalkeeper they have now looks useless, makes as many mistakes as he does saves. This is a definite upgrade
It is a bit mad like as you said clearly came out of a medical and too late to change to other options
Tbf if it’s 5 weeks from now he’d only be missing 4-5 games this month. The term several was used so could be 3-5 weeks
Something I'll say, probably my last comment on January window is this; We are gonna have to be very quick and decisive in future dealings. No matter what league we are in. I imagine with more money we will be able to get the deals done quicker, but there'll be times when we hit challenges, we must be quick to weigh up and quick to get it over the line.
I do agree with this. I know we wait for players to become available near the end of the window but this is twice in a row where the most business ends up being done on deadline day. That’s my only gripe.
This one is hard to have a go at, they thought they got a very good player who could possibly fill in left wing and also give us extra options upfront, they've been blindsided by this injury.
It’s in part a byproduct of being so ambitious though in my opinion. You target a, say, Marcus Edwards on 1st January and firstly Sporting need to see if they can get a replacement as he’s still on the periphery of their squad (not complete deadwood) which takes time and then Edwards is going to want to keephis options open to see if a Prem move or, as happened, a move to a team with parachute payments materialises. The only way you get targets like that over the line quickly and early in the window in our position is to pay an above market rate premium (to club and player) and that’s just not sustainable.
Good post. You can tell we’re aiming higher but needing value while needing to offload and balance. This is hard to nail. My instinct is that we’ll be less disrupted than Sheffield Utd, but we do need luck. Time will tell
