I mentioned earlier in the window that I was concerned with the talk of bringing 4 or 5 or more in. In part because we’ve got a massive squad anyway and I worry about how minutes can be shared with only 16 or so games left, also because we’re really onto a good thing with what’s already in the building. Got a cracking team spirit (the importance of which can’t be underestimated), players that are well drilled and know their place in the system and no little talent that’s only going to benefit and develop further by being allowed exposure and game time. I really didn’t want that disrupted in a short termist promotion grab.

On that basis, I’m delighted with the window - less is more - I think we’ve got the balance right in supplementing what we already had rather than risking stifling it. I’d have liked to have kept hold of Aouchiche due to his versatility (and because I think he’s a good player and a good lad) but I understand it would be unfair on him when he’s unlikely to get much game time and a bit pointless when RLB doesn’t really trust/rate him.

Gutted about Dodds going though, biggest risk to our progress in the rest of the season for me. Wish him all the best none the less.

We've just gotta pray Cirkin or Hume don't pickup any injuries.

No offence but I think we need to relax a bit regarding ‘impending’ injuries. We may finish the season without anything to bother us, why not? I’m ignoring it now, two home matches upcoming and then another cracker at Leeds.

We've arrived at this point, with loads of injuries …

… now we have players returning we can really go for it.

I do admit though, as I’m clearly a Faustian hypocrite, that I got a little giddy with the Adingra links (not that I thought it was realistic), can see what impact a player that’s clearly a level above this league has in Le Fee, two of those in the side would have been quite some fun to watch.

I'm happy with the window striker cover, Seelt back who can cover RB, Mundle and Watson back soon Mayenda Roberts covering right side.
Le Fee can then be freed up to play his best position.

The thing is as well, what's the point of having a squad? Injuries and suspensions open up the opportunity for new players to show their ability, Tommy Watson a prime example before he got injured, Mundle was out and he took his chance and now we're rejecting £13m bids after about 10 games. We shouldn't fear injuries, we should embrace the opportunity they give us.

Hume’s happy at left back, Mepham is happy at right back and Hjelde is better than we’ve seen imo …

… I'm predicting no more important injuries <laugh>
I really hope you're right mate....we seem to have been blighted with injuries for long enough.
My heart was in my mouth when Le Fee went down last night....broken collar bone raced into my mind instantly....thankfully my fears were unfounded.:emoticon-0107-sweat

That's it. Players get injured and teams cope, as we have done.

We are so far ahead of where I expected it is mind boggling. These people do things their way, and they tell us all very openly what that way is. It's bloody marvellous, even if after years of neglect and chaos it can be something to get used to.
