I’d be happy enough with Danns even if I appreciate its underwhelming versus the previous linked
Agree. Good backup option up topI’d be happy enough with Danns even if I appreciate its underwhelming versus the previous linked
Just been thinking about how Donald would've sold Watson for 300k last summer3/4 we had players that no one wanted and now we have bidding wars
Reminds me of Clarkes move to Spurs from Leeds. Hope it works out better for himIf Watson has intimated, to his agent, that perhaps he should be looking at a move to the PL ...
... his feet won't touch the floor until he's sitting in a flat, down South, staring out of the window and wondering what happened.
This is what happens when young players don't have the guidance that the likes of Jobe do.
Watson has been in the NE, and at Sunderland, all his life and a big fish in our little pool ...
... if he uproots and goes to Brighton he'll be thrown in with the sharks and have to sink or swim all of a sudden.
I hope he does well and we use the money to advance the club yet again ...
... gone are the days of players running down their contracts while we watch on looking helpless.
Another very sellable asset as well. I think he'll have interest in the summer if we don't go upBeen reflecting this morning. The positives of the Isidor permanent deal cannot be overstated. Having him secured for next season takes huge pressure off recruitment in the forward position, which as we all know is the hardest.
Whatever happens now we will go into next season with a more than competent number 9.
More like 3k no sell on clause etcJust been thinking about how Donald would've sold Watson for 300k last summer
Plus Neil, Young and RiggJust been thinking about how Donald would've sold Watson for 300k last summer
Fair points. I think that the Dodds replacement will be very important. We cant afford to drop the standard of coaching or to drop the team spirit that Dodds has helped to create. It will be interesting to see if we promote from within or bring someone in. The easy option for KS would be to bring in someone he knows but I suspect that we will take our time and recruit to specific criteria. It's no longer jobs for the boys.

3/4 we had players that no one wanted and now we have bidding wars
They were selling them in the club shop the other daySome people seem to have taken against Speakman and say he's aloof, arrogant and self-centred, fair enough ...
... but I doubt very much that he's shedding tears over Dodds or wanting one of his chums to come to hold his hand.
He wants success for himself which means success for us all.
If he'd wanted someone he knew RLB would've had someone forced on him, instead we waited and brought in a coach we thought was the right man.
All of a sudden the whole club looks professional from top to bottom ...
... I was told last week that Doris, the tea lady, had new castors fitted to her trolley and a designer tabard with the club crest![]()
I have had the look like. This is after being out with the lads all day / night down the sea front and town. Meant to be getting sorted to go for lunch anarl![]()

Pacey as well, I've always liked him when I've seen him playDanns is physically ready for the championship which is the main thing with PL loans. Burstow was eaten alive by championship CBs, Danns won't be.
