He started against psv in the champions league last week

Jayden Danns – 7
Clattered cruelly in the latter stages and showed a fighting spirit to walk it off with a grimace. Committed himself to the cause but found service limited as the match wore on.

Will likely wake up with a host of bruises of a variety of shades in the morning, but this shouldn’t feel like an opportunity missed. His tenacity showcased will be rewarded by Slot in the coming weeks.

A full debut in Europe and a superb learning experience

Wonder if he’d take any of the fringe lads with him too? Potentially a good club to loan a few too

Might not be the right time given where they are in the league, I'm not sure who would make an immediate impact for them.

But I'd certainly be earmarking them as first choice for Matty Young next season (and Ogunsuyi if they're still in league one).

Let Villa and Brighton scrap over Tommy.

Both clubs have great setups for young talents. I won’t buy into Tommy is forcing it until that’s confirmed, just looks like a highly rated English lad, that clubs might think it is possible to get right now, and that’s a compliment, again, to what the academy is producing.

He’s probably several weeks from proper match fitness anyway, so bringing in and Edwards or whoever who can ‘play now’ isn’t a bad thing.

The club will get the del right IF there’s owt in it.

On the Dodds thing, best of luck to him, we need to do something by to make sure Murty is rewarded and settled though, we don’t want to lose a raft of this staff.

Murty seems to love working with the young lads, but the club needs a good conversation with him and see where he see himself as he’s a massive asset.

Ideally, the Black Cats would like to keep Watson, who remains at a formative stage of his career, with the potential to develop into a top-class talent in the next few years. Sunderland also have Romaine Mundle returning from injury though, meaning Watson could struggle for game time on the left-hand side in the remainder of the season, and it would be hard to turn down bids of £20m-plus for an 18-year-old who has only made six Championship starts.

Surely not £20m-plus???

Surely has to be with add ons but that’s fantastic business.

As for danns I’m not really sure it’s what we need with Trey and Abdullahi as highly rated young options off the bench. I mean don’t Liverpool want Trey ? Don’t see the logic in blocking him with another clubs player.

I’d be happy with Danns. A real physical handful for defenders. Definitely has something about him and will give us a different style of play. Good competition for the two lads in form. I think the main area we need someone ready is the wing not striker. So don’t mind it

right wing for me, desperate

Yeah I'm not sure why folk are against it, the striker is likely to be 3rd choice coming in and Danns fits the type we seem to be looking for

I would be disappointed if it was only him coming in

But hin with a quality RM and then a LM to challenge Mundle if Watson goes would be a cracking window

A perfect window would be getting a fullback in as well
