He's a career coach who's more than put his time in tbf, ten years doing a great job at Birmingham ... ... then 4 years at Sunderland having to operate under various managers and traumas. He's earned the chance to manage and I hope he does so well that we eventually want him back at Sunderland
Dodds alwayd seemed to have great relationship with the players which might be a miss? Will we massively miss his coaching side. I know he is well thought of but will he be easy to replace? No idea myself like which I why I'm asking!
Hes always been good with the lads though? So he hasn't been doing much of training? That's okay, I suppose
Wasn't Dodds concentrating on individual player development? When you look at how much certain players have improved he appears to have done a good job. He also appears to have been well liked by the players, so he will be missed. Good luck to the lad and hope he does well. We now have to consider how we replace him. The "model" should dictate that we already have his replacement at the club and that someone steps straight into the role. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Apart from Watson I’d be very surprised if any of our first team players left this window the club recognise the chance we have as do the players. They’re going no where
Think @Southern A made a good point earlier of us developing staff as well as players. Bit of a unique thing but should be a positive for us to get good coaches in the background.
Hopefully. I can imagine him being keenish on a move to the prem and us being ok with selling for the right price but the timing doesn't seem right. The interest in him will still be there at the end of the season regardless of how we finish and it doesn't feel like it's in anyone's best interest for him to move on now. If we let him go we're very weak on that side and we're already weak on the right which should be the priority.
If they want him right now that’s what they’ve got to pay to us I ****ing respect what the club is doing, our ownership is so good now
Yet some of the experts, among the Sunderland fans, see him as the weakest link It's only recently we were paying players off to get them out of the club ... ... what's happened is nothing short of incredible.
As it was only the Wycombe manager leaving suddenly, that triggered this, I'd think there will be compensation ... ... Dodds was under contract and going nowhere until this happened. I think Barcherini will move up a notch now, RLB seems to really trust him.
