Desperate for mundle back and maybe a RW. But today proves my point more that we need a striker over the line. Mayenda’s composure can NOT be relied upon if Isidor gets injured. Isidor fed off scraps today and managed to score. I love Mayenda too but that can’t be the immediate option if Isidor gets injured
Yeah saw that the other day, switched sides today and looked just as comfortable either side, good player
Always seems to be available too, hardly ever injured. Only 8 games in the last 3 seasons he hasn’t featured in… Surprised there hasn’t been more championship interest
Could do with the ability in and around the box that Akpom has mind. Hope we manage to get that done. Would be a really nice addition. I’d love us to sign a right winger too but I can’t see it
Rusyn gone on loan... https://x.com/SunderlandAFC/status/1883243933498851766?t=1uUgQgcAbJE4wE1g1UHsXQ&s=19
Aye, all the best to Rusyn Didn’t really contribute but did he get a proper chance? Poor signing overall
Hopefully a striker is coming through the door soon. Option to buy there for Rusyn too so that’ll be the end of him here I reckon
Just shouldn’t be playing with two defensive midfielders at home to Plymouth like. Whether it was a double pivot or Neil was slightly ahead of Samed he’s been playing the 6 all season he’s not the key to unlocking teams who sit back. We knew what their game would be we should’ve had more attacking quality on the pitch trying to break them down. Southgate-Esque! We’re normally a very well balanced team and it feels like we went against that today.
I’d definitely be going for Jack Clarke on loan mind. Mundle and Watson aren’t fit, both will need nursing back, and we’re in a position where we could really go for it this year. 3 months of Jack Clarke isn’t going to hamper Mundle/Watson. I know people think we were predictable with him in the team, but not only are we a different team now with quality throughout the team to compliment him, but Clarke actually played and did well in this system at the start of the season under RLB. I’d have him back for 3 months in a heartbeat. We should be at least enquiring…if he’s not getting in at Ipswich.
No doubt we need wingers at the minute but Mundle and Watson likely back in a few weeks. My concern if we brought Clarke in, we would have 3 quality wingers for 1 position then Roberts Poveda (if fit) and Rigg as our options at RM We only have 1 more loan spot to use so I want to see that used on a striker or that versatile forward that can play RM
I'm of the same opinion, it really needs to be a forward who can play well at LW and who is a striker with an eye for goal. Which is a hard task I'd imagine.
