Scott is proven useless, but why have we also got a Director of Diversity (Elliott) and a Property Director (Warrick) when the club doesn’t own any property ?
Lloyd Jones has just posted a 2 minute video on his instragram of his highlights in our games. Better not be the start of a goodbye video.
Mundell has already explained to lesser mortals why Charlton cannot expect to keep big name players like Lloyd Jones.
If you’ve got ambition you need to keep hold of Jones ……. Leaburn …… May…….Dobson …… obviously we have none - we’re fuked !
That would have taken a lotof time and effort. Does not bode well. No way will we replace him with a better player.
Gassan Ahadme has also put out a video on social media tonight of his highlights at Charlton. The video lasts for 3 seconds.
I’m fully expecting Jones to be sold. Players going out on loan won’t be enough of a saving to bring in what we need. Charlie laid out the truth and l expect him to carry it out as close as he can possibly get. That is a massive trimming of the losses sustained each year, from 6m to around 1m. Sounds impossible to me but this guy only wants his wedge every week for himself and his chums. Player sales is crucial to getting the losses down and they will do it. Leaburn will be sold and youth players promoted into the shop window known as the first team with the intention of coming good and being sold on a year or two later. I expect TC and Anderson to be future sales, particularly Campbell.
No doubt this is their intention, but it seems quite problematic. They paid £11m for the club, but it's still a loss-making business with no assets, especially if they've sold Leaburn. And the lease is running down, with Roland in a position to substantially raise the rent. CAFC doesn't seem very saleable.
Great post. The other flaw in “shifting the dead wood” is that by default, nobody wants them, and even when they do only at the last min in January when both they & we are desperate. If only the slippery CEO would subject himself to a proper, unvetted, no holds barred Q&A with real Charlton fans, rather than his preferred method of leaking favourable titbits via his two forum stooges. Last week I counted seven League One clubs in cash deals for signings - and none of them were the two big hitters who will get promoted, Birmingham City & Wrexham, although both want to sign Cauley Woodrow for a substantial fee. There is a colossal grift going on at CAFC right now. A very well paid & over staffed SMT not spending on anything apart from their own salaries. This grift is being excused by a minority on ITTV (not CL …) who have tried to intellectualise their apologist tendencies by claiming that Methven is somehow delivering some sort of mold-shattering plan.
It’s worse than that, far worse. One of the terms of the lease is that the Duchatelet Trust is under no obligation to re-new it at the end of the 15 years. They can kick the club out & do what they want with the Valley.
