I agree. Maybe it is because it is a steady rise to already high yields. Liz Truss was a huge jump and the added disaster of everything else. Like I said not good, and can't really take it in isolation as there are other things going on, but one to keep an eye on over the next 6-12 months
The media wasn't or isn't as silent as you're being lead to believe funnily enough. There are of course the rabid right wing media reports, Mail GB News etc etc. This from the time of the budget and as other less sensational reports belies any comparison. Time will, as you say, tell.
"Why it’s unfair to compare the current market movement to catastrophic Truss mini-Budget.
Ignore the comparisons, writes Howard Mustoe – any suggestions that market concerns over Rachel Reeves’s Budget bear any similarity to the chaos that followed Liz Truss’s economic disaster are wide of the mark"

Once again, amazing how those that proclaim not to read ‘legacy media’ seem to have an intimate knowledge of what the legacy media is printing. And they’re always wrong on that. Strange, huh?

I mean, even the most lefty papers are reporting on it.

Strange definition of “media silence”.

It is indeed the comedy goes on. There's a good deal that Labour are doing I take issue with but most over here regard the new government as a breath of fresh air compared with the previous incumbents although a bit pissed off with Starmer's seeming intransigence over youth mobility.

Not sure I agree with you on that - I personally think they've been a bit ****, and that Starmer isn't in any way a leader, but let's see how it plays out longer term. I do laugh at the whole "not reported in the media" stuff though - I wonder who is telling people to think that. The irony of calling other people "sheep" too, when you just parrot stuff out like this without doing one second of independent research. It's entertaining if you remove yourself from it a little bit.

As I say it's in comparison with the **** shower that came before and how they were regarded. There's some hope that there will be closer ties to the EU that will ease the burden of brexshit. We're a long way from joining the single market and customs union. I'd like to see that especially with the bollocks coming out of Trump and His cohorts.

Very disingenuous

The level of coverage and the manufactured outrage are completely different levels.

You had the entirety of the UK’s media calling her Satan when rates were lower than they are now.

Rachel Reeves is being given an easy ride because she tows the line of those controlling the media

You said Media Silence? That's disingenuous. I've never said the coverage was similar/equal etc?

Things are getting so bad for "Rachel from accounts" that even Liz feels confident enough to have a pop.

He could stop using his wealth and influence to meddle in the politics of countries he knows nothing about. His hateful and completely unwarrented insults thrown at Jess Phillips show what a morally deficient low life he really is.

This is the same Musk, incidentally, who said AfD were Germany's only hope. That's the neo-nazi AfD, in case you didn't know.
