Not a cat in hells chance we would entertain it. Even less chance the police would allow it. Click bait ****e from a supposedly decent journo
If it happened I'd guarantee the trains and Metro would improve before and after games ... ... after the Portsmouth game it was a f*cking disgrace.
Not seen it posted on here but came across this, a Louise Taylor piece on the possibility of letting the scummy twats play their games at the sol whilst either building a new stadium or upgrading Sid James park. No way in hell would I want the smelly tramps playing home games at our ground, for me it's purposes Sunderland and no one else besides the damage that they would do to it I would say it's incomprehensible. Why the hell is Louise Taylor thinking when she writes this as she is a fan and knows how we would feel, unless she's been paid off to test people's thoughts on it.
SJP couldn't be increased to 65,000 and there's nowhere in the city to build a 75,000 stadium. This is purely so NUFC can blame the council, the planning departments and SAFC for failing to produce a modern stadium. They already know they can't demolish the houses around SJP, for the first option, or build on Leazes Park which is the second. They don't own the land they rent and never can ... ... if they leave they'll have to demolish the stadium and return the land to the Freemen of the City. In other words they've f*cked up and are just realising SJP is falling down.
A sad story. A fella called Mauro Morandi has died. He has lived alone on a tiny, uninhabited island of Italy, as its Guardian. For over 30 years. Well worth a read up. In the late 80s he became fed up with modern life and decided sale off into the sunset. But his boat broke down near to this island. He stopped to get fixed up and met the one inhabitant, the guardian, who was about to retire. So he took over. Made the news 3 years or so back when the authorities removed him from the island as he was no longer needed. Anyway, a worthwhile read, and a sad end. But I suspect he had a really fulfilling life in the end.
The latest from Belfast "It looks like Kim Deal with Bruce Springsteen's guitar": The long-awaited Rory Gallagher statue has been unveiled in Belfast and fans are not happy
What an arsehole. Doesn’t matter what you think of sharks there’s no need for this. https://www.perthnow.com.au/news/wa...nauthorised-act-after-beach-closed-c-17322238
This is racist apparently. https://www.diverseeducators.co.uk/...e-gorilla-on-not-the-nine-oclock-news-racist/
The only person who's being racist is the woman herself ... ... she's suggesting the gorilla represents a black man. If that we're the case there wouldn't be any humour, it's perfectly ordinary for a black man to like music ... ... what makes it funny is that a lower level primate not only likes it but appreciates the production.
What a load of bollocks ! I've just watched it (most of it 'cos it's not very funny) and it's not racist in any way . . . . it's a bloke pretending to be a gorilla for comedic effect, with no reference whatsoever to black people What this silly woman has done is remind us about colour, and some 'black' people being of similar colour to gorillas, which highlights the fact . . . . that most of us ignore or don't even 'see' now, 'cos, as the song 'Ebony & Ivory' tells us, we're all basically the same Not many of us will think what she's reminded us about, so she's made it worse as far as I can see . . . . stupid woman
However she has probably achieved her aim. Her article has been picked up and her name is in the public eye. Which will lead to other opportunities etc. Etc.etc. What was her name again? For the record, I did find the sketch funny first time round and I still do today. I never considered it to racist, just taking the piss out of a pompous type. However beauty is in the eye of the beholder and we will all see different things. Vive le difference Bugger, can't remember basic bloody French now
As I recall, and I'm the first to admit that my memory aint what it was, The SoL was built two or three years before St James Park was alterd to increase their capacity to around 52,000, at a cost of an estimated £45mil Our Stadium cost an initial £16mil with about the same again for the Concourse which followed a few years later. Of couse the two men mostly responsible for these works came from similar backgrounds, but they developed their carears in very different ways. SO, who got the best deal for their Club? The Accountant, OR The Property Developer?
please log in to view this image Some legends on there. This was a Charity game played back in 2008, all current or former RTG members. Anyone recognise any of them?
I remember watching that back in the day. Loved not the 9oclock news. I'll look for the copper sketch.
Bottom left is Siddall over the road, I don’t know him but always say alright I’ve played footy against him.(over 40s). I think it’s Wilfy behind him I don’t know him either but he wasn’t shy on having his pic online and I’ve seen him in the boozer bottom is of Hylton Rd but forgot its name. Recognise a couple of others but probably from the match or played against them. So there ya gan, not much help at all.
I remember watching that when it was first broadcast. NTNOCN was required viewing for me and most of my year at school. Still funny.
