Anyone who says left back or centre back were at fault too
    Are just missing the point

It was immense movement by their striker too

Whether coyle or jones or whoever could have defended better is beside the point

It was clear we were absolutely knackered
Alzate ended up closer to the crosser than kamara did
And alzate played the full game
And was further away than kamara

    As i said
    Its not even lazyness
    He was coming back

Its like his game awareness went to zero shortly

Its pisspoor and if he sprinted
He woulda easyily caught up to him

Need to calm down on the Kamara hate. Maybe he could have done more but there were other players that were poor on that goal.

Just think if Vaughan had decided to go into the corner to try and win a free kick, corner or throw in instead of trying to play kamara in we also may have hung on. Either way it just shows how weak our squad is, anyone know why drameh was subbed at ht?

When half the team have only played a handful of fulll games this season match fitness and being drilled is not gonna happen quickly . Players have been in and out too often - Omur, Bedia , Alzate , Macca , Puerta , now Vaughan , Giles , Simons , looking at Boro and Blackburn etc and the teams around us none have chopped and changed as much - add to that the physical limitations it’s going to be a tough ask to stay up .

Ye the stark reality aint it

We defended brilliantly almost all game
But like almost all games this season

Its usually just one lapse of concentration and narrowly lose the game

Only been truly hammered once this season

We have 2 less goals scored than the 23rd lowest scoring team in the league

We are just massively lacking quality to win enough games

We will win more.. but we need to outpace other teams

There are just no goals in the current team really
    Big big transfer window needed

Our immense defence has kept us with a chance of staying up, we have by far the fewest conceded in teams battling to stay up( yet only two clean sheets)
    We just lose narrowly constantly

I suspect we'll soon be opening up a 'clutching at straws' thread. There's a few candidates to kick it off...We aren't good enough in defence, midfield or attack. If Acun is serious about survival he'll have to open the wallet because they're not staying up with the current personnel...Yes we are missing key players to come back so I guess that's an opening post, but the truth is they're not good enough at this level. Yours depressed.

Coyle was absolutely immense for 15 games. I can’t believe he’s the same player, now he backs off everyone lets people travel and gets done easily.

only 10 teams have conceded less than we have - NO teams have scored less - obvious where the problem is

    Sorry, I think that’s bollocks.

Jones and McLoughlin aren’t the greatest passers of the ball (I think Macca is a better passer and Jones the better defender) but both are fairly competent playing out from the back, as is Pandur. Alzate is also good at dropping deep and showing for the ball like Seri did under Rosenior. Walter didn’t want his defensive midfielder doing that as he wanted one of the centre-halves to rotate into that space but the principle is the same.

Playing out from the back has not been an issue for us since Arveladze was head coach and even then, it was more an issue with personnel as Figueiredo was woeful at it and the build-up improved massively when Rosenior put Jones and McLoughin as a pairing with Greaves at left-back tucking in as an extra centre-back in possession. Our major problems this season have been decision-making and finishing in the final third, not playing out from the back.

What we’ve reverted to under Sellés is to hoof it long whenever we get the ball. Pedro’s not quick nor a target man. Today was woeful. We just let Boro have the ball and even gave it back to them as soon as we got it.

A clutching at straws thread, and a thread just for Brady to constantly state the obvious about how in trouble we are

all about results ATM, and we were 30s and one of Kamara or Coyle closing a cross down away from a point. I'd have sacrificed a performance today for a point.
Also, not sure we've got the players to play attractive football atm, our better players are looking tired and our options of the bench aren't amazing.....times in first half we tried to play it out was scary stuff, esp when it went left to Coyle/macca

A little bit of heartbreak' - reaction
Hull City boss Ruben Selles told BBC Radio Humberside:

"That [goal] being in the last seconds is hard to take. It hurts because if you cannot win it - and sometimes it happens like that - then you don't lose it at the very end.

"It was a game that didn't look like it was going to be for us, but we need to learn to at least get that point at the very end.

"Middlesbrough are a good team, they are powerful, and the players on the pitch were doing a good job and then the substitutions made them better.

"We needed to put in a lot of effort and we probably need to know how to navigate those moments.

"The goal that late, with the amount of effort everyone put in, it's a little bit of heartbreak."

Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick told BBC Radio Tees:

"Those [late goals] are the ones where you get that instant emotion that pours out of you in those situations - it's why we love the game.

"The players have been giving everything, we kept going until the end, and it was a fantastic day for us. We need to use it as a bit of a springboard.

"You can see how much it means to the boys, how we're together. The spirit gets us through in the end.

"I thought we deserved it. In the end it came and we can enjoy that one, that's for certain.

"I honestly didn't give up. It was a fantastic way to finish the game."

We seemed to surrender the game at half-time. Were Puerta and Drameh injured? And why wasn’t Omur pulled then?

If Kamara had done what Vaughan did then we get out of that with a point. Chris Kamara would have chased back faster

We capitulated for whatever reason after half time
