Agree with that. He will get first team games quicker here than he will going to Liverpool. Rusyn is a waste of a place on the bench. Can't have been easy for the lad coming here and his family initially being left in Ukraine but I'm at a loss as to what we saw in him. Hopefully Trey is involved within the squad soon.
One thing with Trey is, he's one of the most natural strikers we have at the club, always impressed when I watch him, he will also know exactly how we want him to play as the 21s play a similar style to the first team
A team in Europe will definitely take a risk on him, teams are still intrigued by the form he showed the season before he joined us. Unfortunately just hasn't worked out here, always hard to tell how a player will settle into a new country and he's clearly found it hard. Obviously it's made harder by what is happening in his country at the minute
I also think he is most definitely a winger (hurts me to say this as I'm sick of seeing this used for Isidor anarl but it defo applies to Rusyn )
It must be an horrendous situation for him, it's a shame when some of our supporters seem so spiteful about him. He was brought here by the club, misused and shunned by Mowbray and has looked unhappy since he arrived. I think he'd have had a better chance if he'd arrived with RLB but it's too late now ... ... I hope he finds a club that can use him properly, play football and find peace in his home land.
How did Mowbray misuse and shun him? That seems improbable to me. Beale, Dodds and now RLB all seem to have not rated him enough to play. Sometimes a player just turns out to be not as good as hoped. I liked the idea of his signing, but to be honest he has not looked remotely up to the standard. He isnt alone in our signinga recently. We take a risk / reward approach imo, when it works then great, when it doesnt best to let the lads go and not look for reasons the club or its emoloyees should take blame for.
Mowbray’s handling of our forwards last season was really poor imo, as previously said. They probably weren’t good enough but nobody got a real run in the side, they were rotated far too often.
Agreed. Particularly Hemir. I think he absolutely ruined that lad on opening day. I agree that Hemir didn't do enough later in his time here but at the time of the Ipswich game, he'd scored and done well in the last pre-season game against the Spanish team.
Yeah he seems to be more suited to a LM role, I think he can play CF but not in a physical league like the Championship He has the pace and energy teams like in a winger plus a good scoring record that final season in the Ukraine
Seems more like a left forward to me. He’s got ability for sure and it wasn’t a bad signing to make. he didn’t look mentally happy and understandably just never settled
I was asked a couple of days ago who I thought to be our worst signing. Grigg and Rodwell came to mind then that little coloured lad that came from South America can’t remember his name, but was rumoured we bought the wrong player. Does anyone remember who I mean.
