The British army certainly did ride into Rome in Sherman tanks. As for Paisley's quote, he was saying that it "was the second time he'd beaten the Germans here (in Rome)."

Loving Slotball so far …

We look far better on and off the ball now. Far more structured and more importantly, we are far more solid defensively.

I’ve said multiple times that Ljinders was the one running the tactics over the last 2 years and it showed because we looked so disjointed.

Now imagine how good we will look when we sign players who are suited to Slot

Just imagine what he could have done with Hendo in the side though :1980_boogie_down:

I was reading an article (although not sure where now) and was sitting at my desk trying to work and thought back to the article...

Anyhow what it said was Slot can't call himself as good as Klopp yet, even though we've had a dream start... Not because he hasn't been here long enough to win a title yet, but because he's been lucky.

It went on to say that Slot has been lucky with fixtures, timings, and injuries. Essentially saying, if Slot had the injuries Klopp had, he wouldn't be too of the table... I kind of dismissed it thinking "perhaps we're getting fewer injuries because of Slot's techniques and play style."

... Anyjow 2 hours later, I'm sitting at my desk and suddenly remembered thinking the year we won with Klopp, we didn't have too many injuries. So, if Slot wins this season and doesn't go through a major injury crisis, how's that any different than when Klopp did it? I remember that season we were pretty thin, a great 11 without too much depth.

Yeah saw arsenal fan moaning that we’ve been lucky that we’ve had no injuries and we played them when they were ravaged by them (they had 2 players injured in Odegard and caladiori).

jota - 6
elliott - 8
chiesa - 8

tsimikas - 3

Because we kept winning it was ignored

Salah aside, when you're missing your two best players in the two most important places - Alisson and Jota - how is that 'lucky with injuries'?.

They honestly are tiresome click baiting idiots. There's zero sports journalism worth anything now. It's almost sensationalist click baiting and recycling of rubbish

No one's really mentioned Alison being injured because Keheller has been very good. However, if Keheller was first choice, I think most would highlight it as a position in need of strengthening. He's the world's best number two, but he's not the best number one; that's not me criticising him btw, he's been superb cover.

And everyone expects Jota to be injured anyway

Konate will be bigger miss than both.
