It's easier to be a radical idealist when you're a revolutionary. It's harder to maintain that when you've got real people to govern and you're the sitting head.

Could go either way- either they stay crazy assholes, but now with the resources of an entire nation behind them... or they soften a little so that they themselves are not as likely to be deposed. Or, something in between. I don't know if they will cause trouble with Israel or not, but I suspect they'll soften at least a little... civilians are not as quick to get on board with the crazy as revolutionaries are.

plus israel have shown they don't give a **** so could easy just come down on them with an iron fist

I think Assad will quietly disappear from the public glare. He's been granted asylum in Russia and I'd expect at some point he will be covertly moved, with his family to somewhere like Iran.

At some point the ICJ and ICC might come after him with an arrest warrant for crimes against humanity, but it's unlikely he'll ever come to justice. That has been further complicated with Netanyahu's complete disregard for the international rule of law, labelling the ICJ 'anti-semitic' after they issued a warrant for his arrest for his own human rights atrocities.

No it hasn't.

No one summoned by the ICJ comes willingly, cap in hand and tail between legs.

I wonder if Can they pop over here 1st and take the ones we took in back with them to free the Muslim world

You have to realise this fact bro because you will never chill with Muslim families enough to hear it:

Every normal household, Muslim, do not like these ****s either...they deliberately twist words to feed their own human corruption...Allah does not will for any situation where innocents will die

I can prove this through Quranic texts but I cba tbh because it's an exhausting conversation I've been having since 1998

Yes it has.

Because the west backs Netanyahu, a man wanted for crimes against humanity.

And thus it compromises the legitimacy of the judiciary of the international criminal courts.

Why go after people like Assad, when Israel and the West have basically given the middle finger to the court who would try him.

Just think how many trophies we've won since then.

The mind boggles.

That is categorically not the same point as the one you made in the post I originally responded to.

If you'd stated this and this alone, I would have happily agreed. But you didn't.

Better off buying a copy of the beano for factual contact, but understand why Sucky wouldn't because it features Haaland...

Israel taking out weapons sites in Syria to stop the rebels getting their hands on it. Pretty prudent of them

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gxplxy550o

They're essentially using the chaos to completely destroy the entire established Syrian military infrastructure and set the nation back years.

This response was very swift, and considering the rebel groups are apparently funded and armed by Turkey, this is probably a big NATO operation.

Israel definitely had prior knowledge.

The leader of this group has been becoming more moderate before this offensive, it's probably how he got his hands on his weapons and ****.

His soldiers will be radical, but they're the peasantry and will do as they're instructed, as it has been forever.

I was thinking this the US as well, as you say using the chaos to start taking stuff out without anyone taking any notice.

I don't think this is accurate at all.

The civil war destroyed the Syrian military establishment and set the country back years.

The speed of the rebels' takeover is more than ample proof of this.

Israel is simply tying up any remaining loose ends and preventing a storyline that wouldn't look out of place in a Tom Clancy novel.
