Martin on Chelsea’s second goal: “It is what it is. The detail is not quite right at that point. We had a lot of good moments with the ball as well. But I’m as annoyed about the set-piece goal as that one.” [HASHTAG]#saintsfc[/HASHTAG] [amazon]
Time to go Russ. That's an unforgivable comment.
Ah, “the detail”, that’s what I was missing. All makes sense now. Thanks, Russ

Welcome to how I’ve felt since 2014 or whenever the summer when everyone left was. Its nicer on this side of apathy
Not sure I follow, after the left we brought in Tadic, Wanyama, Pelle, Mane, Van Dyke, Forster. And in 2014 finished 8th, in 2015 we finished 7th and in 2016 finished 6th and played great football. Now had you said 2017, I would follow

Because when Lallana, Lambert, Shaw etc left that summer it sunk in that no matter who came in they wouldn’t stick around if they were any good. We would always be a training ground for any decent player who found themselves playing here and they would leave before we could really capitalise on having a good team

I think VVD and Wanyama were part of that team with Lallana etc as well but I might be misremembering

Worth saying that Chelsea were excellent. Could easily have got 8 or more even and I suppose it shows how this style can look when you've spent the best part of a billion on your squad.

I still felt they were quite dull to watch though with the constant pass pass pass. And like Martin Maresca's teams look very vulnerable on transitions, even when we were down to ten.

How Fernandes didn't score in the second half I'll never know. Shocker of a miss.

I follow the sentiment. I think Wanyama came in after the exodus and VVD a year later. I thought Koeman did a damn fine job of rebuilding, but get you point on players leaving

Facebook has just trolled me. It has chosen now to bring up the memory of the play off final on my phone notifications. <steam>

Oh and on Stephens. Yes it was stupid and Cucurella made a dogs meal of it. Once again, the reaction to him is OTT.

Be interesting to see how everyone would react if it was captain THB or captain Downes doing that ... doubt they'd be told to "**** off out of our club" or that they're a ****.

Again, no defending it, but interesting reactions from everyone again.
I would have the same reaction if either player did it. Play with the reserves. It's not needed when we have so many cameras everywhere.

Do people actually read?

I said I get the frustration. I. Get. It.

What I don't get is calling a long serving player a ****, or to **** off out of the club. That part I don't agree with.
Which makes it even worse. He is meant ti lead by example. I get going in for a strong tackle if one of your mates has just been floored and I get winding up the opposition but I can't understand how anyone can defend pulling someone's hair when they weren't even contesting for a ball. The ball was out of play.

Don't think anyone is defending it. I'm certainly not. It wasn't the wisest move. Noone is saying otherwise.

What I am calling out and disagreeing on is calling a long serving player of ours a ****, and that he needs to get out of our club.
