Surely they can only become tougher and more experienced by playing, seems to be working for Jobe.

It's either that or just buy older players and hold the younger ones back for longer.

People, including yourself iirc, were recently asking for Watson to play ...

... all players, of every age, make mistakes and have poor games, it's not always their age to blame.

The whole team looked ragged at Millwall, and against Coventry, because they had to option but to throw everything at us.

It's a young squad, growing together, I doubt Rigg, Watson, Jobe, etc, want 'protecting' ...

... they want to play and, if we don't allow them to they'll start to want moves away.

Quite right, despite a tiring week ...

... you'd think he'd become more tired, not less.

It's balance mate. Always is. It's rough to find the equilibrium but it has to be done. Otherwise it's the sort term results and form that tank. You also run the risk of acute injury.

When in recent times has Roberts scored or provided assists on a regular basis ? , a talented entertainer but frustrating player who dare I say it needs competition for his place in the team .
He’s consistently produced the most chances created for us though same again this season. So he’s our best option. Assists you can’t help if that lad doesn’t finish it on the end but Roberts can still do so much more

we need another RW for sure

Absolutely, I don’t hold much hope with Poveda

Roberts seems to have dropped off a bit since Poveda got injured.

surprised Rigg hasn’t taken the left footed ones ahead of him.

we looked good at set pieces for 3 matches then have been garbage at them.

Roberts is probably the most skilful player we have however his end product has not been good this season. His corners were abysmal last night although to be fair it looked like they had worked on something the way every corner hit the outer stratosphere.
Mayenda looked good on the right the other day so regardless of what Roberts wants why didnt they try him on the left last night when Mayenda came on. That way he might actually get to the byline and pull the ball back.
What was good last night and I am not sure whether it was Roberts x 2 or Roberts x 1 plus O9 x 1 hooked the ball forward to Wilson. Neither came off but it was good we had a striker who made runs and we tried to find him.

Silly one and probably utter b*llocks but a guy on X has said our form has dipped since the new assistant came in. Is he extracting the urine or not?

I thought that this morning driving to work. He was supposedly brought into focus on defence if I recall. That side of our game is pretty good tbf.

Sometimes it doesnt take much to derail a good thing. I dont think we have the sort of dressing room where you would see any disharmony over a new coach to be honest. I did wonder if Dodds has less of a voice now, the players certainly love him. I doubt there is anything in it to be honest, and Regis will be pulling the strings. Be nice to be a bit more creative in the final 3rd. I am expecting to see some signs of coaching ground work in that respect starting to come through. As a coach working on defensive play is always the easiest and quickest to show. Effective attacking play, that relies in more than individuals, takes a bit longer to produce.

Or last season either imo.

If our lads stretched as much as some on here, we wouldn't have an injury crisis lol

A new perspective for this thread is that we have a more than capable squad for the objectives set out, which will be top 6.

You can strive for perfection but you won't ever achieve it, Roberts is a world class dribbler with very little else to his armory. Isidor is a brilliant little player, who struggles with his back to goal, Watson is still a long way off, Rigg seems tired if not a bit lost at times.

Aiming for top 2 even with our wonderful start is gonna be a helluva task. Myself, I see us as more than capable of competing for top 2 especially if this run ends and we figure something out as a collective.

But should it not happen, no worries.

Agree. Need to see it step up in Jan IMO. If he doesn't trust the bench, move them on and get some better quality in. Can not flog these young lads into the ground. Fatigue will set in massively and mistakes will be made. I would argue we have already seen that bite us a few times this season. Coventry and Millwall etc.
It's not football manager mate. We can't just flog them all and bring in raft of new players. You'd think we were in a relegation fight the way some are going on

Not saying that at all. But he clearly and I mean clearly doesn't rate Ba and AA. Those are dead wages. Needs to be some movement.

All teams miss a couple of players here and there. It's the depth and ability to use who is on the bench that makes the difference. Either RLB hates subs or he thinks the bench is **** and the squad is poor.
We’ve lost all the quality of the left side and weren’t blessed on the right. I’m not convinced we’ve got the depth me like. Connolly last night should have got a game but if LeBris doesn’t trust the others, available yet, nor do I. That’s why missing them two is a blow.

That's my point. Not sure I was claiming for a full on fire sale like football manager like.
Ultimately if we have players who can’t play this division well or rather will never play this division well they’re a waste of wages. People need to be pressing for a place or developing towards it. Rusyn, AA and Ba , probably Bennette and possibly Hjelde could for me. Seelt nearly back, other youngsters emerging, players due back from injury. No point having them here. Maybe loans to get our best value from them but they’re just in the way. We need a couple of additions who lift the quality, maybe a cover at full back and create space for our talented young uns.

I still think we’re competing for top 2 just going through a patch
