Well,I was in the away end aswell....as I've said,he looked busy, like he could create something. Ok,it didn't work out.
I like young mr Watson think he’s doing ok he just needs some puddings in the corner down him and a bit more time in the gym plenty to come from the lad yet
Good post mate. People need to get to grips with these young lads are learning every match........and we're still competing at the top of this league......I love them...doing great imo!
Expectations on him seem massive. Hope he is what people think he is. How long before he is match fit I wonder. Surely he needs to build a base fitness level, then up to match fitness level. What does that look like? 4 weeks plus from starting to train. O think I would be looking for an alternative personally, if that profile of player were deemed important for the second half of our season.
Definitely a jump in pace from U21 football to Champ. He's played about 250 mins of senior football so it's very early in his acclimatisation. He's gonna need this 6-8 game run while Mundle is out to get it, I think. Personally I'd keep him in even if he takes a bit of time to make much of an impact.
He appears to lack the confidence to repeat what he does in the 21s - cut in a few times, but was unwilling to shoot
When he was willing to shoot,he was crowded out...needs to bring a bit of variation to his game. He looked a bit predictable to me.
When Mundle is back, I hope they start giving him 20+ mins each game to let him try stuff and play his natural game without worrying about us losing possession etc The caveat to that is we have to be 2 or 3 up before he comes on
don't think you are 'lumping' me in with the riggy out gang, i am far from it...the lad has earned his place, my problem is simply that these young lads can take a bad performance as a major hit, unlike those with a few seasons in the books who have learned to simply shrug them off, i just believe having a game or two out of the firing line (watching from the outside) gives them a chance to see that everyone can have a bad game or bad run and it does not make them a bad player, just another part of the learning curve. watson has done very well i think, has had some great little passing moves along the wing and as for jobe, many say he only improved because he was not dropped, i think he improved by looking back over his season and working on anything he felt short of...i really do not want to see any of these young lads taking a big hit that harms them and limits them progressing as we have seen similar with many 'stars of the future' within the game that suddenly go missing.
That's the ideal situation, there is a very good player in there, shame he has to have come in when the team is under a bit of pressure , there has been times once or twice when he could have come on earlier in the season, but its not our way , so we will just have to wait and see how it develops.
You have to hope the starts give him confidence, there is clearly a big player in there, he just needs to find him
Difficult to replace his physicality with another youngster. Would love Lennon Miller from Motherwell, but he’ll have his pick of clubs so would be a difficult one to sign.
