I would like to think they are smarter tham appointing Lampard. IMO he is miles off being an effective premier league manager. Surely they want someone who can keep them up and stabilise them in the prem. Not many better than Moyes if so, as much as I dont like him.

I keep getting into debates about coaches not being trusted enough by owners or their head of football. In my opinion it is a blight on the modern game. This is as good an example as you will see of owners either making decisions they are not qualified to make, or appointing people to positions they are not qualified to fill. Rosenior transformed Hull but whoever made the decision to sack him for Walter should face the sack now imo. Wont happen I suspect, but there is little accountability for poor performance at board level.

By that logic shouldn't they trust Walter to turn things round and keep him on?

Not at all. Rosenior earned trust by transforming Hull from relegation candidates to 7th placed finishers. He deserved to keep his job. Walter has shown he is not worth trusting by turning a 7th placed finisher into relegation candidates.

Hasn't he taken on a demoralised squad and needs more than just 17 games ...

... surely managers deserves more games than that.

Why demoralised?

I do agree with you though. Managers do need more time than 17 games. Maybe they should have stuck with Walter like you suggest.

Because they'd just lost a manager who'd taken them from a relegation fight to the verge of the play-offs ...

... and because Walter is clearly a knob <laugh>
