Very basic analysis by me here but Coventry have still been putting up top end xG for and against numbers, have the most missed 'big chances' and in general are having a lot of shots so, for me, Robins was still doing a good job but was being let down by certain individuals, mainly his forwards.I am not surprised by it, but do think it is a very unreasonable decision. Anybody would look at his record there and say it nothing other than very good.
There were some real challenges over the summer. I actually thought Robins might walk at one point. They changed the backroom operation, and I dont think it was with Robins full blessing. He has shown an awful lot of loyalty to them at times, and maybe in the summer a bit too much. I dont think this will damage his reputation at all inside the game. I think he will be patient now and wait for the right sort of opportunity. He will want a club who commit to a long term plan, not a **** or bust one. It may well be the summer before he comes back into the game and I suspect he will be interviewing any owners as much as they interview him. Good luck to him, one of my favourite coaches in the modern game.
I look forward to watching him do well at a club I don't dislike
