As far as dodgy signings go, Vaughan, Sandat and even Celi were probably peanuts and don’t strike me as non-kosher. The one that stunk to high heavens and still does is Sinik. Didn’t we pay £4 million for him? He wasn’t even the best young(ish) winger in the Turkish league that season in that price range. The fact we signed him and Norwich signed Sainz a year later on a free with compensation speaks volumes.
They would have been low agents fees compared to sinik but they all add up. You're right though he is one of a decent sized list of players we signed who have done the square root of nothing. Maybe Acun did some head scratching or maybe we are wide of the mark, probably never know for sure. What I do know though is football is a very wealthy sport and where there is money there are people looking to profit from situations.
I get the Sinik one....ok with hindsight an absolute shocker .....but he was a young Turkish winger who'd broken into the national team and with an over enthusiastic new Turkish owner he will have wanted to increase the Turkish links with the club
Wasn’t Acun heavily involved in the Sinik transfer? You’d imagine he’d know if money was being skimmed with his level of involvement in some of our deals, no?
If we're listing bizarre transfers which might be suspicious then that Oulad M'Hand fella has to be up there. Club talked about him as a massive deal, made a point of giving him the number 10 shirt. Never played and then Rosenior quickly got rid when he was here.
Loan with an option to buy wasn't he? And believe he was another crock which is why he got shifted on and has done square root of **** all since
Well, I'm a member but didn't attend last night, neither did I watch it on the tv. Just couldn't face it. I persuaded my stepson and granddaughter to become members but they don't bother to come (over from Manchester) very often as the entertainment value of the game is now rubbish. I doubt that they will remain members very long. I will persist, but I don't think I can cope with watching a side managed by Tim. Having read comments on here, it went exactly as I suspected, same old, same old. I saved myself a cold drive, a cold couple of hours watching ****e and a load of angst. I appreciate he has his way of playing but we don't have the players for it. Try something different Tim and catch your opponents by surprise. 3-5-2 anybody? But I doubt he will change. Hopefully Acun sees the light and gets a new man in. I doubt I will bother to see Tim manage a City side again, however long he remains.
I'm not sure there was anything odd about it, he was just never available due to injury, he'd been out injured for pretty much the whole season before coming to us as well.
Just seen the second goal as I left the ground before it and ****ing hell, you lot weren’t kidding. Possibly the worst goal I’ve ever seen us concede.

Not particularly, it was a punt on a talented youth player, that we thought we might have got a deal on because he's been out injured for the previous season. Clearly it didn't work out, as he ended up being injured for the following season as well, but I'm not sure it's all that odd.
Only just caught up due to an early start this morning... On last night... Well that was woeful wasn't it. Probably our worst performance yet. I stand by what I've said about most other games being fine margins, luck, poor quality in key moments etc - and not everything being Walter's fault, but last night was an exception to that. Some desperate decisions made and a game that was so poor we should have gotten hammered by more. The atmosphere was awful and even scraping a win or two from somewhere isn't going to do much to change it. It's a shame in some senses because I don't think we've been as bad as the table shows, but I do think the owner now needs to act sooner rather than later on a new manager, even if its just to stop the deepening rut that TW can't seem to dig us out of.
