I have seen some terrible football throughout my 63 years of watching Charlton. But in those days I felt a sense of belonging. It felt like we were all in it together. I don't feel that with the modern day Charlton. I don't recognise what we have become. A Social Media toy, a playground. While all this is going on the Football, which is all I am interested in, has got worse and worse. Plus the fact that we don't own the Valley and training ground anymore.
Charlton the Football Club seems to be drifting further and further away.

Well said.

When we were sinking into League One under poor old Parky back in 2008 things were bad.
Fans were fed up. The football was dreadful. But the sense of community and unity was strong. We felt togetherness.

Even after the change of owners and Chris Powell coming in, before the Summer of 2011 things still looked bleak.
But I wouldn't ever think of not bothering to go to a game. Every Saturday or weekday home evening was looked forward to.

Now everybody I used to know has stopped going. I was the last of a small group to carry on attending,
sat there with empty seats to left & right for several seasons. This was after 2016 of course, when they began closing blocks.
The community spirit gradually faded away.
I imagine the last of it still survives among the die-hards in the covered end and the away supporters (one and the same in many cases).
I still get the impulse to attend a game - just go and buy a ticket.
But it's a daydream rather than a real intent now. Not helped by me being not very well.

We're losing our Club. It makes me very sad.

All the enthusiasm about Jones's appointment has gone. Even those who were a bit sceptical didn't think he'd produce such turgid football.

The chicken hut in the car park, the half & half scarves, a pound off a pint of you arrive at 11am ….all fine IF you have put the basics in place first , ie properly invested in a competitive squad. This mob clearly haven’t.

A couple of years ago, Sandgaard sprayed the portacabins at Sparrows Lane grey in a similar smokescreen - the same handful on ITTV were in raptures then

(incidentally, I am loving the way Mundell is hell bent on throwing Jones under the bus before his SMT, all because he was duped by Methven’s podcast …)

We know how this ends for SE7 Partners, anyone unsure only needs to watch Sunderland til I Die.

All the warnings by Sunderland fans have come true.

Imagine still being naive enough,at a mature age, to continue falling for utter nonsense. I’m actually embarrassed for the fella for believing anything CM utters without a “yeah really?” attitude to begin with.

We sacked Jackson, Garner, Appleton and we are still 14th in League One. Will sacking Jones makes us better? Let’s be honest, most of the players are awful. Plus having so many players out.
We won’t get any better over a sustained period. We just need to avoid relegation for the next few seasons until hopefully someone can untangle the offshore multi ownership structure.

Sadly I agree. Sacking Jones will achieve nothing.

Our problem isn't mediocre managers.
The Club is not fit for purpose anywhere on the footballing side.
A decent manager with his own mind would not touch CAFC with a barge pole right now.

We will be lucky to finish 15th.
Relegation is becoming a possibility again.

The cock Sandgaard sacked Jacko, with hindsight and typical of him, a bad decision. Holden fell out with the cock Scott.

Nathan Jones’ stats at Stoke & Southampton as manager told us all we needed to know …his tactics, his style of football , his results, his player recruitment- all terrible. Really bad.

Plus Luton were turgid during their successful spell. Sometimes it works.

Agree with everything.
